    Pros

    - Environment and culture are a rare find
    - Teams worked really well together and attacked software issues head on, everyone had a voice
    - Agile shop
    - Working from home offered
    - Unlimited vacation day policy
    - Group activities offered at lunch and after work (softball, soccer, biking, racing, beer enthusiasts - case share, the list goes on)

    Cons

As with every company there always seemed to be people in roles that weren't the best fit. Promotions within were rare and very challenging to redeem. Some weekend work was required for go-live release support. No yearly cost of living increases or reviews.

    Advice to Management

Challenge your people to reach their full potential and reward it. If a team member doesn't fit, figure out a better place for them or remove them.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Zonoff.

    Interview

Was originally contacted through a recruiter, who took care of setting up the interviews.

Had a very pleasant phone interview with one of the department heads, who was very nice and knowledgeable.

Had a 3.5 hour on site interview with 6 people, 4 were technical, 1 was from HR, and the other was the department head from the phone interview. Some of the technical interviewers had you sooner problems on a white board. Everyone seemed really nice, smart, and appeared to genuinely love their job and coworkers.

    Room for improvement:
It probably would have been shorter had the technical interviewers met with me all at once, or met amongst themselves beforehand so that I wasn't asked duplicate questions 4 times.

    Reasons for Declining

While I would love to work here because I know I would learn a lot, the company was not able to offer a compensation package that fit my needs at this time.

The company also does not offer any 401k matching, there is no formal process in place for yearly reviews or raises, and there is an "unlimited" but limited PTO policy.

I also got the impression that they were constantly under pressure and frequently working late would be expected.
