Great work life balance, good people, secure company, bring your dog to work, lunch room, frequent employee appreciation events, Nice office building, offer training for those that want it, moving around the company isn't overly difficult. Management cares about employees on a personal level it's easy to feel like family.
Pay is okay for Bozeman but not on par with local competition for talent (oracle, web filings, apt us). In a college town where new young talent is easy to find which depresses the pay people can demand. Losses of long tenure employees over the last year.
Advice to Management
Keep striving to improve, stagnant companies will be passed up by competition. The intellectual capital losses of tenure employees will hurt. Offer more Training to employees on your systems so when those losses happen the company is not adversely impacted.
PM's interview with HR and a senior manager (CTO, etc..) There were no trick questions. It was a good conversation designed to gauge fit and mental fitness. An offer was made the next day. After this there was a negotiation period while I took a drug test and they performed a background check. They took my counter more cash, more vacation and I started a few weeks later.
