    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at emnos (Chicago, IL).

    Interview

Found out about the job through a recruiter. HR phone screen followed by 2 rounds of phone interviews: first with a group of analysts, then with hiring manager. Given 3-4 days to do a business case to present at in-person interview. I happened to have done a similar project at work so it was easy but it would have been difficult without that experience -- it was pretty involved technically and business knowledge-wise.

    Interview Questions

    • They will grill you about SAS/SQL coding skills for analysts or brain teasers for consultants. They absolutely do not hire mediocre people.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

Initial offer was lower than the range I gave them. It was hard to get them to increase it but they finally came around. Probably helped that I already had a decent job so if they pulled the offer I wouldn't have been too upset. Bonus and vacation were generous so I didn't feel the need to negotiate those.
