Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

    I applied online. I interviewed at iCIMS (United States)

    Interview

    Phone call with HR that was pleasant and encouraging. Video call with Hiring Manager that involved walking through resume and experience. HR reached out to me few days after saying they'll give me an update the following week - it never came. I reached out to HR politely asking if they had an opportunity to connect with the Hiring Manager - no response. A few days more pass and get an automated email saying they went with someone else, but the company subsequently reopened the role on their website. I don't want the job as much as I just want honesty from these companies. It's a huge turn off.

    Just talked through resume/experience. Nothing too crazy or anything that stood out.
