I worked at iRunway full-time (More than 3 years)
Great peer group, flexible hours (to some extent), opportunities to work with industry experts and legal professional, competitive pay package, opportunities to travel/work abroad frequently, merit based review.
Can be asked to work extended hours, weekends with no work-life balance. Of course this is duly compensated. Skill-Will match is poor, grinding work, good hard-work is recognized very slow but a small error is taken very seriously and punitive action taken immediately, High attrition rate, supervisors sometimes are unaware of the technology and are less useful when it comes to guidance. Can be forced to overstay overseas.
Advice to Management
Hire Masters/PhD candidates for the respective technology areas for better skill-will match, take measures to increase employee retention
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at iRunway (Raleigh, NC) in March 2015.
The interview process was very long and it took nearly 1 1/2 months to get over with. All my interviews were via skype. There were in total 4 rounds. First one was basic introduction part and some basic coding questions like fibonacci series etc. Second one was based on my Resume and the projects which I had done in my graduate and undergraduate curriculum. Third interview was based on a problem question which was about source code analysis. Final interview was HR like and very basic questions were asked. The worst thing about the interviews were all the interview were very well but I did not get the offer which was very cruel since they made me wait for almost 2 months..!!
