I applied online. I interviewed at oak9 (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2021

      Interview

Total interview process took about a month and a half from when I first applied. There was 5 interviews in total, 3 non-technical and 2 technical.

The first interview was a phone screen, I was contacted about 4 days after I applied on their company website. I was walked through what they were looking for in a candidate, mostly an informal exchange of my background and gauging whether or not I would fit in with the culture of the company.

The next interview was with another engineer on the development team. The engineer walked me through the Oak9 platform by showing me a live demo where I shared my screen and walked me through the process. Then we had a small programming problem where he wanted to get a high level walk through of the algorithm I would be implementing.

The next interview was with the hiring manager who also happened to be the CPO and co-founder of Oak9. We had an informal talk on my background and wanted to hear what I had been working as of late.

The next 2 interviews were on the same day. The first was a technical interview with the CPO and the second a culture fit talk with the CEO.

In the end I wasn't extended an offer, overall it was a pleasant experience and perhaps in the future, would be willing to apply again.
