Getting an Interview

  1. Buyer Interview

    Negative Experience

I had a phone screen with HR, and the interviewer was so belittling. They clearly don’t value people, family or work experience. If you really want to move on in the process, I suggest you embellish your answer and say you’ve always dreamed of working at the dollar store. Probably the worst interview experience I’ve ever had. She went on to further belittle me, after telling me it was a terrible interview, by giving me a “final chance to change her mind about me”. Why bother? Your mind was clearly made up about me! Obviously no one from out of state is just looking for a job at the dollar store! She could have cared less that I had 20 years of retail experience in buying and planning, which by the way, their buyer role is also planner.

Why did you apply for this job?
