Everybody has to hold a number of roles since the staff kept shrinking. It was a great place to learn a lot in a hurry.
Management changed direction frequently. Often times before projects could get finished, they would be abandoned. Management would also change frequently. There were several rounds of layoffs while I was there.
Advice to Management
Pick a direction and stick with it, though now that most of the work is outsourced that may be easier to accomplish.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at uBid (Itasca, IL) in October 2011.
uBid has no interview process for this position. uBid uses temp agencies exclusively to fill their customer service jobs.
I was hired through a temp agency, so I never had to negotiate with uBid.
