    Senior Marketing Manager Interview

    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at wappier.

Overall, I was very disappointed with the interview. I didnt feel welcome at all in the company. Also, it takes hours to get there if you lie in the city. You really need a car to get there. First, the receptionist ignored me, forgot to bring a coffee for me, and left me waiting for 15 mins later than scheduled. Not a great start. HR guy picks me up, he was actually pleasant, but didn't say a word throughout the interview. The other employee was extremely rude and sexist! Let me start off by saying he came in the room, and read the job description to me for about 15 minutes; he barely came up for air. He didn't even introduce himself as a normal person would, like saying what his role is, a bit about what he oversees in his job. Then after he went on the job description rant, he said he was low on time, like 15 minutes left to wrap up the interview. So I felt rushed, but made it through introducting myself in like 5 minutes. Right before I could ask my questions, he asked me why I was alone in Greece and why I didn't marry a greek guy, because that would make the immigration process easier. Come on. Is this the 1800s? I told him that "I guess I'm not a very traditional lady."
I even looked at the HR guy, who was sitting there, almost with an embarressed expression. I laughed it off, because that's awkward, but I moved on quickly with a different topic. And the 2nd topic was about how I discovered a glassdoor review about salaries not getting paid on time. The response he had was like, "Glad you asked, I will be honest, it is true. We've had a down period, like any start-up." Well, for me, that was enough red flags for the day. I rejected the invitation to a second round interview a few days later.
