Embracing authenticity: Meet Hans Ahlstrom, one of our M&M’S Store Directors, as we celebrate Pride this month and beyond! 🎉
Hans joined Mars in 2020, drawn by our culture and potential growth opportunities. As the M&M’S Store Director in Bloomington, MN, he reinforces our values by fostering an open, inclusive, and fun work environment every day.
“It’s so important for everyone to feel seen, heard, and respected in the workplace,” he shares. “Associates are empowered to bring their whole self to work and are encouraged to showcase their pronouns on their nametags at our stores. They're also empowered to openly share feedback and ideas with their teams and leadership.”
To Hans, Pride is a special time to not only celebrate with his community, his Mars colleagues, and allies, but to also remember to stay true to yourself without hesitation. "Pride to me means living as your authentic self without fear."
His favorite advice? “Discover what brings you joy and surround yourself with people that lift you up.”

Meet Tamiya, a recent graduate who participated in our Junior Maintenance Technician program in partnership with Columbus State Community College.
She’s just joined us full-time as a Maintenance Area Coordinator out of our Columbus, Ohio site. On her journey at Mars thus far, she says:
“Mars provides me opportunities to choose my own path. It allows me to be me and to find out who I am as I enter the workforce. Mars has been very supportive of my goals and has encouraged me to grow and learn. I love that Mars is a global company and would love to work at other sites around the world.”
