Comp for roles like that is hugely variable based on performance. Totally different from the consulting model.

Have an interview with Goldman Sachs in their PWM division for a role as a Wealth Management Associate. Anybody got some insights on salary/culture/work-life balance/prestige ? Their salary range online for the role is 85k-160k which obviously is a big range. This is for the NYC office

Going to probably be one of those places where culture is great and you'll meet inspiring people but everyone will complain about work/life balance

I would say it depends on YOE. If you are 3-4 years, you are in the middle of the range, and at the upper end for 5-7 YOE. Best of luck!

IHi OP. I have given the HireVue couple of months back. The questions were mostly behavioral. You can check YouTube and get the concept and a hang about it.

We don’t post based on title we post for an opening then hire someone title based on experience and education. Most roles give a little extra credit towards higher title for PhD

Yes, they do. I am a chemical engineer with a PhD. Your ability to solve complex problems and break them down simply will be rewarded. I have patents in the plastics industry. I never envisioned myself transitioning to finance, but it happened, and I am content at Goldman Sachs. I feel that my PhD has been advantageous. One of the individuals who directed me to GS and still works here was a mechanical engineer in the nuclear defense industry.

Goldman Sachs has a terrific brand name. Any sort of stint there, especially if it is in IB, will go a long way. WLB is the same as any other bank. I loved my time at Goldman and it ultimately provided me with a phenomenal exit opportunity as well.

Anyone have experience working in ops at Goldman Sachs in NY? I am a recent college grad and Just got an offer with the collateral management team and wondering if it’s worth taking. They’ve explained that it is a more client facing role than with other groups in ops, which makes it more appealing. What are the exit opportunities for ops and what are the chances of going to a more front office role once inside? Thanks

It should be expected this year. If you got a good bonus last year and a salary increase, your total pay will likely stay the same so if you got a 5k salary increase your bonus might be 5k less if your total pay stays flat

Depends on if we met quota or not, really. Although, we were informed that it would lower this year due to other reasons. The company took a toll since 2020.
