I worked at Électricité de France full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Large company with many benefits and excellent pay etc. Comfortable offices, and extensive training given.

    Cons

Some of the more junior managers were simply not up to it, and tended to antagonize members of staff causing many to leave. Systems used could be considered too complicated for many to grasp fully.

    Advice to Management

Be more selective when it comes to employing managers. They may be very keen, but if it's at the expense of those who do the real work it's just not worth it!

    Pros

    Amazing staff.
    Great pay.
    Good benefits.
    Clean and safe working environment.

    Cons

It is often very busy - be prepared to work hard!

    Advice to Management

Senior management should spend more back to the floor days in all departments.

    Pros

Massive growth opportunities, lovely people and low turnover of staff. Chance to root down and be there for a long time.

    Cons

The energy market is a bit here and there recently and the UK Gov still aren't 100% on how nuclear fits into the future fuel mix, double so with the changes in government and brexit.

    Advice to Management

You have some wonderful staff, don't just keep them ticking over, give them further training and incentivize growth

    Pros

    - one of the big 6 so a large org
    - safety is king and the message of the day is held in every meeting
    - Some good managers keen to get it right and dealing with large scale logistical issues
    - opportunities within are many for technically qualified and minded people

    Cons

    - unions are very powerful and although give a sense of reason at times can slow all processes down
    - union strike action caused a lot of disruption in the year I was there though the company had a lot of changes it was planning to make to help with the smart metering need but I did think discussion would have been far better than the continual threat and walk out
    - a lot of changes happening in UK so some job uncertainty around in 2015

    Advice to Management

    - there are some very good staff who need nurturing to assist the company for many years to come so look for ways of identifying them and then developing them

    Pros

The team i worked in eally good environment
    And very friendly team members
The prohects i was involved in were quite challenging but interesting project
If you work good they can offer future projects

    Cons

There are not that many cons in the team.
Just one issue, they should raise the salary. Other than that it was a great experience

    Advice to Management

Human resources department is not very efficient. They should tackle with the queries on time. Other than that no other advice.
