I have been working at @properties full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Started as agent/salesperson when company was 3 yrs old and 50 agents large. Still there at year 16 and have never regretted it nor looked back. Every problem, challenge, concern, whim, wish, criticism, suggestion, question and snag, etc has always been listened to, discussed and addressed to the point of resolution. There's a reason this company has the best market share in Chicago. It was earned. Perfect balance of looking into the clouds and unknown (Co-Founder and marketing genius, Thad Wong) along with the grounding and consultative "calm through the storm" vibe (Co-Founder and actuarial realist, Mike Golden) built this brokerage. The good news? They're only just getting started.

    Cons

Growing pains take away the "old days" from every small business that booms. I'd say I miss about @properties on Fulton what I miss about Potbelly's on Lincoln--- that we used to be the only one. Otherwise----none

    Advice to Management

Don't ever change. One big bummer was the geographical centralization of administrative roles to one location. I understand the need to save $ but the "branch feel" of knowing all your point people as a producer went away into the anonymous ether when that happened.

    Pros

Best place in the world to start a real estate business. Training, Mentoring, and the most innovative and collaborative ownership in the industry.

    Cons

I wish I could think of a downside. There really is not. There is simply not a better environment to learn how to build a business.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. If it ain't broke, continue to break it and keep giving in the manner in which you have. Best culture in the industry.

I have been working at @properties (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great Christmas party every year for entire company and another party just for staff, ceo's give staff gifts every year for Christmas. Little things make staff appreciated.

    Cons

A more competitive pay rate would be beneficial.

    Advice to Management

Offer tuition reimbursement programs. Could also hire an in house HR department.

I have been working at @properties full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The founders are very active, and seem to be caring of the company and staff. Growing very rapid, job seems secure. Promotions are giving to who has been with the company longest.

    Cons

Upper management have made some bad calls, and commonly is noticed by agents and support staff . COO is not polite when approached with ideas, and she lacks positive energy. which is not noticed when the founders are around, as she is masking a front around there presence and acts positive and cheerful, which is fake.

    I worked at @properties full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

lots of opportunities for advancement (but that is mostly because of the high turn over rate)
    laid back environment
    fun parties and outings

    Cons

    low pay
high stress environment with unmanageable workload
    little support from managers
us vs them mentality between agents and other departments when you should be working together

    Advice to Management

Why bother? We were asked what could be done to make it a better work environment and all the ideas were shot down.
