    Pros

Central location. Taking care of benefits for those who take care of others.

    Cons

Abusive behavior. Unfair management practices. Projects once managed in-house now outsourced. Managerial incompetence = exponential increase in consultants? Are our health and pension benefits safe?

    Pros

Benefits--no co pays; healthcare; useful gifts

    Cons

To address the review indicating Manager do not hold employees accountable. This is not true. I have worked along side my peers to hold employees accountable. However, when a manager attempts this, then the Union gets involved. HR tries to sweep issues under the carpet by playing both sides. There is no support from HR on behalf of managers and supervisors. So most managers and supervisors just give up since the effort is not worth anything in the end. All Managers need to take a stand against the bullying, harassment and hostile work environment. Managers should demand that upper level executives support and hold employees accountable for bad behavior, regardless of job title, family cliques and Hallelujah.

    Advice to Management

Take a stand and demand that Upper Level Management and HR support you and stop the nonsence

    Pros

    Only pro is the healthcare

    Cons

It is like working in a third world country sweatshop. Manager forces you to work 13 hours per day 7 days a week. When you ask to take time off, manager will bark at you. All the people work like koala bears in the union. Everything that can be done in 5 minutes will take at least a day. Things get done only when you find out there are tons of mistakes in them, and the whole process starts over. Current union employees will likely stay with the union till retirement. Because they knew they will get fired in less than a day when working outside in an corporate environment. There are no motivations to work hard whatsoever. Raises are standard and not merit-based. Co-workers only care about themselves and perform the absolute minimum to get by the day. All the jobs in the union are dead end unless you know some big guns to pull you up the ladder. The union can survive till this day only because of some unsung heroes who are willing to contribute their sweat and blood. Unfortunately, they will never get recognized. I would like to take this opportunity here to salute them.

    Advice to Management

Utilize your union education benefits and take some management classes.

    Pros

    Health benefits without employee contributions

    Cons

The are plenty of cons. Horrible management that allows employees to behave in the most unprofessional ways I’ve ever seen in my life anywhere! It’s tolerated, so it encourages the behavior and since they are in the union, they are protected regardless. If you’re in H.R. you think the place is great till you are actually on the floors. The building and offices are run down and dingy, even the elevators are poorly lit. If you work on the middle floors, good luck with getting out of the building, because the elevators are always breaking down and too full to get on. It will take a minimum of 5 elevators stopping on your floor for you to get on. You can wait 15 minutes sometimes. Basically, there is just an all around lack of respect and office etiquette. Employees behave and go to work dressed beyond ghetto. Cursing and discussing inappropriate topics are the norm and no one bats an eye. Management does not hold anyone accountable for their behavior. I have often seen employees being disrespectful to their direct supervisors. If you want to work in a hood like setting and have a job to suck the life out of you, then work here!

    Advice to Management

Hold people accountable for their behaviors and be an example of how employees should behave. Unfortunately, most of management acts like the staff and even jokes around with the staff in the same manner. How can anyone demand or expect respect from employees when the management behaves in the same manner?
