      Pros

You can do your own thing, work your own hours and such.

      Cons

Management is like an ADHD child. They lack all respect for human life. They will pretend to be for your best interest, but they are lying. They will find anyway to not pay you. Do not do a summer sales program with them. They do not train you at all on how to sell, they think they are, but they don't. Alll the focus is on door approaches and first meetings, not closing. They are constantly changing policies and...

I worked at 1st Light Energy for more than 3 years

        Pros

There are some very nice, hard working people that make it tolerable to be there 8 hours a day. Free coffee and area to play basketball.

        Cons

Mormon run company - favors their own CEO wastes company funds in his toys Male dominated, no women in management positions. Plenty of managers who blatelently "mess up" but they're protected due to their church affiliation. Sales gets cruises, $, ipads, etc., operations and accounting get nothing

        Advice to Management

Establish a system where long term employees are promoted regularly.

I have been working at 1st Light Energy

        Pros

The solar industry is a great, up-and-coming industry to work in. Lots of freedom and flexibility to make your own schedule. Some leads given to you however no where near the amount you are promised coming in.

        Cons

Organization structure with in the company is very poor as far as paying its employees in an sort of timely fashion. You are left living off a very small base salary and find yourself more concerned about whether or not you will be paid the money that you are owed rather than making new sales. Not to mention the unorganized fashion the project managers work in, misplacing important documents has become the norm. Customers...

        Advice to Management

The burn out mentality regarding your sales reps is no way to go about running a successful business. Going through 20+ salesmen in a two year period for a small company is unacceptable. Get it together.
