I worked at 21st Century Fox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Benefits
    -Co Workers
    - HR outreach / opportunities to be involved

    Cons

-Management (especially for administrative staff) is very poor and lacks communication
-If you do not fall in line with the other administrative robots then you will be gone
    -High turnover because of management

    Advice to Management

Training is well thought out but people end up leaving because they are not compensated properly or have a hard time respecting management because of turnover and inconsistency

I have been working at 21st Century Fox full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

People. No egos in the newsroom. Everyone works together and there are no prima donnas to deal with. A lot of on-air experience as well

    Cons

Untrustworthy management. Inexperience producers. No one has any idea of how to enterprise stories and the social media push is nauseating.

    I worked at 21st Century Fox full-time

    Pros

Lots of possibilities for learning, forward thinking and willing to take chances as a company. Management willing to delegate significant responsibility to staff (and hold accountable for results too!)

    Cons

Political environment can be challenging, and can lead to dissatisfaction for some. It can be a great place to work but it can also be a bit emotionally difficult to manage through the various political factions.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget how much the people who work there are willing to give it their all.

    Pros

    Cons

Sometimes not a ton of "exciting" work to be done -- lots of copy/email/press release/case study drafting

Don't be afraid to place more responsibility in your interns!

    Pros

Great people, very fun environment. The work is directly linked to production, which is a huge satisfaction.

    Cons

The work was at times repetitive and mindless, the office space is not ideal, and at times there was little work to be done.

    Advice to Management

While I greatly enjoyed the program, I think it could have had a bit more structure. Just a thought.

I worked at 21st Century Fox full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Vertically integrated entertainment company, top 1-2 content creator, not for sale.

    Cons

senior execs maintained very protective of their own fiefdoms, unwilling to open up their area to fellow associates, zero career path programs/assistance in place.

    Advice to Management

People are not "expense liabilities," your business and brands are only as good as your people. Establish career path program.

Upper management. Also the fact that middle management hasn't a clue. Also the bizarre political games waged daily. Avoid it like the plague.
