I worked at 24 Hour Fitness full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Of course you get a free gym membership. It's gratifying to be a critical part in connecting members with their goals. Generally you work Monday Through Friday and are off all major holidays.

    Cons

Company changes direction and game plans quite often. It's like they are trying to figure it out as they go. Sometimes things can get really political and it becomes hard to advance your career.

    Advice to Management

    Stability and consistencyis key.

I have been working at 24 Hour Fitness part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Amazing members and peers. I've created great relationships with team members from the front desk, to kids club, sales, fitness, and the trainers.

I make the same hourly wage today, as I started with 5 years ago. Our releases, choreography that we receive every quarter, is no longer reimbursed.

    Advice to Management

Value your GX Instructors. We interact with our members everyday, and bring so much to our clubs.

    Pros

Loved the free gym membership to any 24-Hour fitness. Was a pretty relaxed job and management was nice.

    Cons

The sign in process took a long time especially for old people so it got stressful when the gym was busy.

    Pros

Great energy and friendly coworkers, very easy to stay active since the whole atmosphere is centered around it. Lots of events going on.

    Cons

From a trainer aspect I found it a bit challenging not having as much control over my schedule or client base.

I worked at 24 Hour Fitness part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I was a huge fitness junkies so working here was perfect since I got a free membership to all 24 HF locations. I was part of opening a new gym and the training we received was amazing. Best training and team building experiences I have gone through.

    Cons

The drama. I'm not sure if it was just my location but there was always drama with the service reps and kids club attendants. Also the members feel really entitled so they get upset with the employees all the time.

I worked at 24 Hour Fitness full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Wonderful team who truly cared about the business and the employees. Always tried to do the right thing.

    Cons

In 2013 executive leadership changed and the focus of the company drastically shifted. I hear that 24HF is on the right track to be the great company it was originally known for.
