I worked at 2H Offshore as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Smaller, more flexible company
    Real responsibility from day one
Opportunity to present to clients and workforce
    New and exciting projects
Good culture and lots of opportunities to socialise - fridays are often essentially a half day

    Cons

Since it is a smaller company, there is no real training program, you must take on as much as you can working project to project

    Advice to Management

    None - found management excellent

I worked at 2H Offshore full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

5 weeks vacation and European style health insurance, free beer at the pub on Fridays, quarterly team building, younger office

    Cons

Poor management planning and direction, expensive niche contracting company, terrible project management, no career development, if you're not part of the clique you will not advance, brutal work schedule often with last minute work requirements, management doesn't have experience outside of the company

    Advice to Management

Work towards more traditional office culture, career development with advancement potential for engineers, better planning for current industrial trends

I worked at 2H Offshore (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Five weeks vacation health insurance paid for

    Cons

Poor time management of senior engineer resulting short notice "all nighters" to finish reports. Very arrogant company with thin skin regarding its image as a great place to work.

    Advice to Management

Stop posting fake reviews of your company. Your not as good as you guys think you are.

    Pros

    Positive atmosphere. Flexible hours.

    Cons

Too much emphasis on drinking at the pub every Friday afternoon. As a result, the office is pretty much empty while employees drink at the company's expense.

    Advice to Management

Save the money on drinking, and put that towards your employees.

I worked at 2H Offshore as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Where to start.. fun people, lots of free food (and occasionally free beer), great work/life balance (though there is some overtime depending on project), and a decent variety of projects. Very flat management structure - project teams are the primary organizational unit. All in all, a very good place to work if you enjoy offshore consulting.

    Cons

Offshore is inherently a bit of a volatile business due to being so dependent on oil prices. That said, 2H isn't in the habit of making layoffs when things get tough, they just stop hiring for a while. Also, you're gonna be working on risers and conductors pretty much all the time, so if those aren't at all interesting to you, you might be looking in the wrong place.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up.

I have been working at 2H Offshore as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Family Oriented, great organization, flexible schedule, Team Buildings, professional place to work at

    Cons

They are on a hiring freeze and I am only contract.

I have been working at 2H Offshore full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I can blend in to the background fairly easily as long as I'm sociable with people. Gives me time to look for a place I can actually grow my career next.

    Cons

The company management seems to be in place because of how long they've worked there, not because of any solid leadership or people management skills. They tout a 'culture' that they love so much, but it's basically an excuse for them to side step any hard decisions that might improve morale. Social status also seems to weigh heavily in 'performance' reviews.

    Advice to Management

Actual peer-to-peerr reviews for your employees, because we see things you don't, or won't.

I have been working at 2H Offshore full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits; incomparable annual leave for a company in the U.S.; the VPs are easy to talk to; focus on the future shows sustained growth and expansion; interesting projects; future endeavors are leading to continued room for personal growth; opportunities for travel to various locations, both short-term and long-term; employees feel like individuals and significant contributors to the company's future

    Cons

some projects have very short delivery schedules which can lead to long hours

    Advice to Management

Presently I think the company is headed in the right direction and management is on the right path.
