Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

    Best job of my career

    Apr 22, 2022 - Anonymous Employee
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

I have worked for many companies and teams in the last 20 years and 2U is a special place with leaders who care. Not just in their words but in their actions. This has been a tough few years and the leaders have handled it with transparency and compassion. The mission is also so powerful and the people you work with here across the company are passionate, dedicated and caring. The benefits are also great and the culture and offices are amazing.

    Cons

Every company has its challenges. Things change and the last two years were a stark reminder that the unexpected can hit any time. While balancing everything personally with work has been a challenge since COVID hit (which would've been much tougher working somewhere else) I have felt support and appreciate knowing that leadership will be honest if things change or when things get tough. I am very grateful for Chip my leaders and 2U!!!
