- "I have enjoyed working for 48 Factoring as an independent contractor for several reasons... Honest management (very important), excellent training, work from home, daytime hours & they always pay on time." (in 12 reviews)
- "They give you a script and you work off a dialer to contact small business owners and offer them funds if they want to use it for Equipment, Inventory, Payroll etc. well trying to actually get a hold of business owners is like pulling teeth, most business owners are usually not at their place of business they are either on vacation or out of town at meetings or what not but then if you do talk to a business owner as soon as you say direct funding they cut you off say nope not interested and most people told me that if they want a loan they will just go to their bank, the only way you can make money from this place is if business owners are either interested or willing to speak with a funding specialist and NONE of them did they wanted NOTHING to do with it so guess what I was working for a place making NO MONEY, yes I understand it's commission but my past jobs I commission and got paid every single week." A great work from home opportunity
Jan 12, 2016 - Lead Generation Specialist in Minneapolis, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A very nice opportunity for anyone looking to work from home. Pay is great when you figure out the average per hour based on hourly plus bonus. Management is very supportive and competition with the team makes the day do by pretty fast. We do a weekly training conference call that helps keep everyone informed about changes and ongoing training. Payday is every Tuesday via direct deposit and emails are sent out every Monday letting you know what your production was for the week and what you check will be, I think that's pretty awesome. I would recommend this job to anyone that knows what it takes to cold call and challenge themselves to try and close the deal!
Cons
With any position like this there is a learning curve. You need to learn the script and get comfortable with it. I don't really think that is a Con, but you can't give up in a day or two, it gets easier after a week. I guess no real cons, if you follow the training things fall into place and the money shows up in your account.

Work from home make your own hours
Cons
In 2015 I started working for 48 Factoring and it was a nightmare. They give you a script and you work off a dialer to contact small business owners and offer them funds if they want to use it for Equipment, Inventory, Payroll etc. well trying to actually get a hold of business owners is like pulling teeth, most business owners are usually not at their place of business they are either on vacation or out of town at meetings or what not but then if you do talk to a business owner as soon as you say direct funding they cut you off say nope not interested and most people told me that if they want a loan they will just go to their bank, the only way you can make money from this place is if business owners are either interested or willing to speak with a funding specialist and NONE of them did they wanted NOTHING to do with it so guess what I was working for a place making NO MONEY, yes I understand it's commission but my past jobs I commission and got paid every single week. Face it business owners out there just don't want funding they don't

They treat their interviewees like NUMBERS, not PEOPLE...

I was an independent contractor at 48 Factoring
Cons
Before I did the trial day I read some of the negative comments here on Glassdoor and I assumed they were written by bitter people who just didn't get the job...However, after actually going through the trial day I can share their frustrations. I did all that the company asked to be selected and began my trial day on time. I made more than 150 calls for them that day and worked well into the afternoon. No one ever spoke to me or gave me any feedback. I honestly studied their materials but they were very lacking in guidance for how to perform well on my trial day. I had to call them and ask if they were even listening! The process definitely made me feel far worse than other jobs. I know I am not the best at everything I do but THIS COMPANY MADE ME FEEL LIKE A NUMBER, NOT A PERSON.

Thank you for the feedback and bringing these things to our attention so that we can improve our processes. We did not intend for anyone to feel like a number and apologize for any negative feelings we may have imposed.

Pros
The pay structure is fantastic. The management structure is and organization as a whole are comparable to another fortune 100 companies I have worked for. Upper-level management is transparent and accessible at all times. My direct supervisor Jason Whitten works overtime to make sure we have everything we need to succeed. Working from home is also a huge benefit as you have the freedom to be your own boss and make great money.
Cons
It didn't take me long to think of the Pro's but I am struggling to come up with a legitimate Con. The only thing I can think of is we need more FS to take our calls. This is a new and growing company and they are working to fill those positions. They only promote from within so as SLGS mature they will be promoted to fill this gap and this Con will be a Pro.

Lead Generation Specialist
Oct 21, 2015 - SLGS in Jacksonville, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Earn from the comfort of your own home. I have been working with this company for about 4 months now and I am very pleased with them in many ways. They have excellent management and are always available to help from the top down. They also have great training and supply all of the tools needed to succeed in the position. They do what they say they will do and they don't make any false promises ever. You can make a good income from home with them Full or Part time. I give them 2 thumbs up !!!
Cons
Not sure if I would call it a Con but to do the job correctly numerous cold calling is required for success but that is the nature of the position and you know that going in.

Challenging but fun work, fast growing company
Jan 15, 2015 - IT DevelopmentRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Company is growing really fast and most of the time hires good people. Friendly atmosphere, using cutting edge technology at every level. All ideas and suggestions are seriously considered and people are encouraged to share ideas and propose initiatives. In most positions working from home is supported what can save you a lot of money on commute, clothing etc.
Cons
Some of the new hires are not always up to the standard and it takes a while until management recognizes it. Sometimes requires working on the weekends for developers.

Pros
You get an hourly wage plus bonuses,so on good weeks you can have a pretty good payday.Management is very easy to work with, and are always open to suggestions as to how to improve the process.
Cons
Talk-time pay structure could use some tweaking,so that there could be more compensation for followup work and research on prospective clients.

Great place to work especially for a work at home based job. They have a great training program and the staff is very willing to help and teach. I've enjoyed being challenged with learning this new product/business and my production has continued to increase as I further learn the industry. If you are self motivated and eager to learn a new industry, this is a great place to be.
Cons
Working from home can be distracting

Have to "audition" and work an entire shift for free to see if you are hired.

Work from home Weekly pay
Cons
Have to work a full 8 hours without any pay to see if they want to hire you Only are paid for talk time and then 80% of your time Seemed like there were many more sales people than funding specialist Confusing bonus structure - was told two different things The most that anyone has achieved in a week were seven deals at $80. Plus was told during training that if you have an interested person and try to transfer them and no one is available to take the call set an appt. to call them back. We all know that in sales setting a call back is usually a waste of time unless you are dealing with something that the customer/consumer called you for.

We apologize that we could not offer you a position from the trial, but this is a common practice among many call center and telemarketing companies and this is discussed and agreed to during the interview.
