I worked at 4G Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you were good, you could make good money with the commission.

    Cons

The commission structure changed monthly and anytime you met a criteria, they changed it.

    Advice to Management

Be consistent. Pay attention to the ones who are on top, just because they are doing well doesnt mean they are happy. You would keep more top talent if you paid attention and acknowledged them.

    Pros

experience in the industry, the customers weren't so bad. the company will claim fast advancement to manage new store locations, you will eventually find out every sales rep is promised a management position and new stores that never seem to open

    Cons

this company is incredibly unethical, I worked in the pacific northwest region at a retail location. you had to lie to customers to overpay for their phone and claim " your accessories are free with your phone" when in reality they are not. the upper management is un qualified and only looking out for their commissions. the commission structure was atrocious on average in my district of 7 stores and about 40 reps 2-3 actually made commission per month, and the hourly pay was 10. you don't get time off or holidays off, expect to work both Christmas and thanksgiving. you are required to attend manual district meetings and regional webinars that you would have been "time edited" for to make sure you got paid, out of the 10 or so trainings and 20 webinars I attended I was only paid for them once. upper management is verbally abusive and frequently threatens termination in a group chat your required to check even on your days off. for webinars and conference calls you had on average 12 hours notice, sometimes less than 2, to attend and they were mandatory.

    Advice to Management

go to business school and take ethics, I've seen employees not paid for over a month and sexual harassment from management at a regional level in this company. not to mention the pressure to lie and cheat and general negative atmosphere

I worked at 4G Wireless full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I was a top selling employee making it to management. Good compensation if you are good at selling. Good teamwork. You get to know your small store team of 5 or so. Management knows how to sell, so learn from them. Good training from Verizon account managers, use them.

    Cons

This is a high stress sales environment. If you want to be a sales person in a retail store then this is the job for you. You will have to cheat customers to get them to buy something. You only make as much money as you want to work for. This is a retail Job where selling is pressured. Management pressures you and you have to pressure the customer to buy. No time off. Work every holiday except Christmas & Thanksgiving.

    Advice to Management

Have some loyalty to your employees. Treat your employees with respect they deserve.

I worked at 4G Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, mostly nice co-workers, centrally located offices, good parking. I'm not really sure what else is good about this place. Oh, discounts on your phone bill.

    Cons

Job titles mean nothing here. They're going to throw anything and everything at you, no matter what department it should be directed to. Upper management is out for their own personal advancement, rather than the betterment of the business. They hire lots of overpaid placeholders, rather than qualified individuals who make change.

    Pros

Great Co Workers. If you enjoy working with customers, this is a great job. Playing with technology everyday. Get to test the latest and greatest phones.

    Cons

Ridiculous goals. Overall the company seemed to get greedy towards the end. I believe in setting goals high, but these were just out of control. You had to lie to customers in order to hit your goals, and this was ok with management (secretly).

    Advice to Management

Praise your people for doing a good job. Stop running the business with negative reinforcement. People work better when the good things are acknowledged instead of only focusing in on the down side of things.

    Pros

Employee discounts on Accessories but that's about it!

    Cons

Selling refurbished phones to customers, forcing managers to work 6 days a week hourly for Store manager is well under the standard. District Managers and above lacked leadership they DO NOT know how to manager people! Back area of store was FILTHY!

    Advice to Management

    it's no use
