    I worked at 8x8 full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benifits, once a week meal and big organization

    Cons

Too much politics at work, people who dont speak up get streamlined, micromanaged departments, double standards.

    Advice to Management

Double standards. Marketing sales people get away with sleeping with each other and drinking and partying because they make the company money, others are streamlined if they dont speak up. This company is total BS they say they give you stock options but the managers are micromanage the teams and if they like you you get away with everything but if they dont like you then they find faults in you and try to blame you for everything. Stupid ignorant people talking about how TRUMP is making america great again in the office. Although they brag about being global this place is run like a tea stall. Below industry standard salary and they make you work like a dog. They are very bias and unfair towards immigrants. Too many ignorant people who have no education in the management who are just there to be a Yes man. Felt stupid and self destructive working here.

    Pros

One of the market leader for the hosted pbx service. Challenger for the Call Center software portion.

    Cons

Company is not very organize for training and development of new Sales Reps. Lack of Sales structure and vision. Pricing is not competitive to the market and business values.

    Advice to Management

Need to listen to the people who are in the front lines with customers.

I worked at 8x8 (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Start up feeling, lots of interaction between the employees. Pretty good product, fast and easy implementation. Fair pricing and good equipment to sell.

    Cons

Customer support was poor. I had to support my own clients because I was afraid they would get mad if they called the call center. Unfair distribution of leads. Substandard pay for Silicon Valley. Poor management. They were trying to be a Cisco type company with leadership that did not have a clue.

    Advice to Management

Listen to seasoned employees. Bring salaries up to par with otherSilicon Valley companies. Advertise to drive sales. Go back to being a start up mentality. Has millions in bank but does not pay dividends to their share holders.

    Pros

    the peer to peer staff,

    Cons

very unfair favoritism and illegal management of customer accounts among salespeople, promises of inside promotions with very little actually done that way. Changing of policies to meet their liking while screwing the account manager. Example- if they do not want you there and you are out legally due to illness, your accounts are told to be protected but really aren't.

    Advice to Management

Back up what you say. Operations and marketing are sub par.

I have been working at 8x8 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

company is growing fast (industry is growing faster)
offers a broad portfolio of services
many really great people to work with

    Cons

They hired a mostly new executive staff in the last year that seems more concerned w/ their stock price growth than they are with actually adding value to the company or our customers.
In a time of highly automated business processes, everything here is manual, non-intuitive and non-scalable process.
This is a company that has out-grown it's mindset and I do not expect them to achieve their potential. I'll be leaving soon.

    Advice to Management

You want and expect this company to grow and yet you don't really articulate a vision that inspires the workforce. The petty behaviors at the management level do not go unnoticed and are demotivating to your teams. A management overhaul would do wonders. Try promoting from within, for one, on a broad scale.

    I worked at 8x8 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

8x8 taught its employees everything about network connectivity the needed to know to get the job done. They helped you in understanding and learning the role you were hired for.

    Cons

They don't pay well. It was also very political within lower management. It was popularity driven promotions and never really performance based. If you were part of the "in-crowd", you pretty much got to the next position up. The lower management is immature and had a high school feel to their mentality.

    Advice to Management

Give you employees management training or hire real professional managers. Give better compensation and your turnover rate wont be so high.

I have been working at 8x8 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Learning Environment. Don't work for Support at 8x8 that is where 60% percent of the work is, Sales is 30% percent. So apply for 10%: Engineering, QA, Mid-Management, Senior Management, C-Management.

    Cons

VOIP is highly competitive environment, the talent at management level lacks in terms of going into new direction.

    Advice to Management

Delight the Employees by getting to something new where the Margins are higher than VOIP.

    I worked at 8x8 full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The co-workers are great. The company and product are great.

    Cons

You don't make quota until you've been there at least a year, so for a sales person, you will be underpaid for at least the first year. Also, you're expected to work 10-12 hours a day as an account executive. Account managers can do 8 hours, so if you join, choose account manager.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Wall street is happy. Advice to employees. Keep looking, use it while your there and move on. They will certainly use you and get over on you.
