I have been working at 99 Restaurant & Pub full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good product that keeps customers coming in

    Cons

Management is not great, too focused on making customers happy that they reduce table stations making good servers leave to make more money elsewhere and then customers are unhappy with poor service

    Advice to Management

    Better hiring and training

    I worked at 99 Restaurant & Pub full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great place for a young adult to make a little money

    Cons

If things were to go back to the way it was 10 years ago I would have stayed. A lot of us that worked for the company for several years lost our insurance and vacation time due to them raising the hourly average.

    I worked at 99 Restaurant & Pub part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Meeting new people, Great Music, Food tastes Fantastic, and Company gives you 50% off your meal per shift

    Cons

Poor training, not informed, long time servers are selfish, not helpful, and aren't very welcoming!! The Company always has promotions which only 1 manager has the key to override the register, you spend more time looking and waiting for them!! The Company has TOO MANY charity events, always bugging guests to donate!!!

    Advice to Management

Stop favoring the young girls by giving them the money shifts, the big party tables, and tables closest to the kitchen, These benefits should be alternated evenly!! Make your favorites fulfill their duties, instead of letting them go out to smoke, make phone calls, or gossip! And stop making other servers clean off the favorites tables, and serve their food, so they make more $$$ with the least amount of work!!!

    Pros

Uuummm.... they haven't sunk yet. But it'll get there over time unless something changes. Food is good. Value of food is good. They do alot for the community.

    Cons

While pay is good for management, it's not open so sometimes assistant managers get hired at almost the same rate as an experienced GM. Vetting new management for hire is laughable at best. People are hired and kept as assistants even when their training managers report that the person isn't going to work out. Operations Directors should learn motivational tactics to get betters results, not just threatening jobs. Also, female managers are treated with much less respect than male managers, and I'm a male.

    Advice to Management

Learn to listen. Learn to motivate. Employment threats create turnover.

    I worked at 99 Restaurant & Pub full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Honestly I would say the only pro I can think of would be the free meals as a manager. That's it.

    Cons

Low pay as salary for long hours with no consistency. You would be there at 6AM some days, and expected to be there until 1-2 in the morning other days. No way to get used to that. If it's busy, you're expected to stay and help regardless if you have already worked 10-12 hours. On your days off you would have to come in for early morning meetings/conference calls for like an hour if they were scheduled.
The front managers are expected to do the jobs that a chef or assistant chef should be doing, they just do not want to pay to schedule one. The front managers check out the kitchen throughout the day, preform line checks, count inventory, manage the cooks, etc.
The uniforms are horrible. Logo shirt with black pants-felt like I worked at McDonald's. They give you two shirts, so have fun washing your shirt constantly (since you are a part time kitchen manager too, but don't get paid for it) and looking boring and not dressed well.
Restaurant management is horrible as it is for the pay/expectations balance, but this place expects a lot with little recognition unless you've been with the company like 20 years. Then you can do whatever you want, which includes not respecting management.

    Advice to Management

Pay more, or give your managers less responsibility/hours that are slightly consistent-hire chefs to do the kitchen work.
