I worked at Aéropostale part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Sometimes the store managers were great! Good first high school job! Aeropostale collabs with other orgs such as Teens for Jeans!

    Cons

Late nights if closing. If my schedule said I get off at 11 pm, I'm actually getting off at 12 am.

    Advice to Management

If you're a DM, get to know your workers a little better. I hated being called "Hey you in the (insert shirt color) shirt!"

I have been working at Aéropostale full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Product.
    Team, I love my team.
    Family Environment-strong teamwork.

    Cons

    No life-work balance.
    Long hours.
    Slightly skewed communications.

    Advice to Management

Be prepared for hard work and that hard work will pay off. You must put in the work to see the benefits. Looks really great if retail is your career goal. It is difficult of those not pursuing a retail career.

    Advice to Management

Start investing in your current employees instead of always hiring new ones.

I worked at Aéropostale part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

you meet nice people and the discounts are good. sometimes you can have fun at work with your coworkers.

    Cons

managers can be lazy and not want to help. ridiculous hours include over night shifts with no breaks.

    Advice to Management

if you're going to have 16 year olds work till 12 on a school night or overnight on the weekends you should tell them that prior to hiring and pay them more than 7.25 an hour.

I worked at Aéropostale (Less than a year)

    Pros

Often other stores' management team can be very approachable. Districts really work together as a team. Monthly bonuses for entire management team if you make the bonus plan.

    Cons

They treat their managers terribly. Expect for them to expect 50+ hours out of you if you're full time. Plus, any part timers are usually high school kids at their first job, so it's hard to get quality work done unless the managers do all of it.

I worked at Aéropostale full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Aero was a top 100 company to work for many years ago. They had a great training environment for all levels of management. Great at team building, promoting internally, and the teams were very loyal and loved to come to work. It was the best company to work for 10 of my years there.

    Cons

There is zero work/life balance. You can't complete everything that must be accomplished in a normal work day. This will extend into weekends and even vacation days. They have lost everything great they represented and in return have lost the majority of their tenured managers. Unit intensive with no payroll to support. If sleep isn't important to you, great place to work!

    Advice to Management

Try and find the way you were. When your field teams were your most important customer. Understand you are losing the very people that helped you build Aero from 300 stores to 1,000
