Pros
Pay is decent quite a few favorable benefits.
Cons
Upper level management is knowledgeable and strong. Lower level management at my terminal could use an ego check and learn to communicate and train a bit better and by a bit I mean a lot. Work life balance non existent and not willing to solve issues before they get out of control.
Advice to Management
Check the ego at the door and learn how to communicate better.

Pros
Pay okay . Benefits okay. Vacation okay.
Cons
Long hours , horrible management, managers play favorites, dispatcher has no idea of areas he dispatches no work life balance.
Advice to Management
Stop the favoritism, treat your drivers better, hire more drivers so your drivers don't have to work 12-13 hour days. Drivers are the heart soul of a trucking company and should not be treated like dirt.

Doesn't RecommendNo opinion of CEOI worked at A. Duie Pyle full-time for more than a year
Pros
good bosses most of the time
Cons
-terrible pay for salaried employees, given the amount of hours expected - ends up equaling about $14 an hour for supervisors while drivers make $23 and dock workers start at $15 -Work-life balance is nonexistent, stay away if you have family you'd like to see during the week -will squeeze the life out of recent college grads

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookI worked at A. Duie Pyle full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Great health plan compared to other companies.
Cons
Micromanagement of employees. Every issue is treated as a major catastrophe. Zero work/life balance. Pyle must come first, always. Good old boy network. If you're not friends with the right managers, you'll never get anywhere. If you cross the wrong one, you're screwed.
Advice to Management
None. Regardless of what their "Core Values" say, that they preach all the time, they neither value nor listen to feedback. In fact, you're quite likely to be retaliated against for speaking up about issues, for not being a "team-player".

Pros
Gainful employment and some of the people
Cons
Everything else really! From the top down it's nothing short of organizational chaos. Do as I say not as I do mentality, retaliation and favoritism are ways of life there up to and including employment threats and physical violence. If they don't run you out, they will wear you out by being overworked, underpaid, and nickel and dimed for every little thing under the sun. How they get away with half of the stuff they... do is beyond me. There is zero work / life balance and you are essentially an indentured servant, nothing more.

If you actually practiced all of the things you are constantly preaching and treated your people well, you'd have an amazing company, and people wouldn't be leaving like their rear ends are on fire.

I have been working at A. Duie Pyle
Pros
There is steady work, with overtime available. Human resources are exceptional with quick responses to employee questions. Everyone pitches in wherever the need is. Management tries to meet employees personal needs regarding time off. Above average equipment.
Cons
Due to the nature of the industry as a whole, long hours are imperative. I would like to see a little more work-life balance.
