I have been working at A+E Networks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Amazing work/life balance
Salary is high if you come in as an external hire at a middle management/senior management level
If you're a gay, young, good looking male, you will likely be promoted regardless of merit depending on who you report to.

    Cons

It's a sinking ship. Very poor caliber of talent especially at the senior levels. I honestly don't understand how they keep the lights on.
HR/Senior leaders will lie directly to your face. They will only ever act in the best interest of themselves.
You will not learn anything worthwhile to build your skill-set. It's the perfect job if you have a family, want to make good money and be complacent. It is not a company for anyone who is ambitious.

    Advice to Management

Wake up. Hire good people and trust them to make decisions. Fix the demoralizing culture that stems from the top down. There's zero empowerment, autonomy or integrity at the company.

    Pros

Great modern office, company benefits are really good, generally managers are very flexible and helpful

    Cons

Salary isn't particularly great, very hard to get a pay rise, different people get paid different amounts to do the same job, communication between departments not very good, too much power focussed on senior management

    Advice to Management

Remember who it is doing the actual work!

    Pros

hours are flexible, company has very interesting events

    Cons

    Pros

    - friendly coworkers
    - office aesthetic is nice

    Cons

    - no sense of team work
    - not much room for growth
    - HIGH TURN OVER

    Advice to Management

Learn the job before you gives order. Respect is a two way street, give it in order to receive it. Better pay or perks to make up for the amount of work/coverage that has to be done.

I worked at A+E Networks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Benefits; Oatmeal from the "cafeteria"; nice mailroom people

    Cons

In a company where the people representing you are referred to as "In-Human Resources", you best align yourself with someone in upper management quickly, or you'll be going nowhere fast; they make all the policies, despite what (I)HR wants you to think. The company is scrambling to offset poor TV ratings for the past few years, and it's caused upper management to make some very poor decisions; there are quite a few unhappy people working there, but no one seems to care. Look elsewhere if you can; otherwise, if you're junior, get your one to two years' experience and get going elsewhere soon after.

    Advice to Management

Get your head out of your you-know-what's

    Pros

Incredible benefits, team mentality, inspiring upper management

    Cons

Low pay, often long hours, lack of respect in the work environment (even for an entry level job), lack of opportunities to get promoted

    Advice to Management

More opporunities to move up in the company, and upper management should understand this position! At least if you don't understand the position, don't pretend to understand the job
