I have been working at A Nanny for U full-time for less than a year

    Pros

As a backup care nanny, I have found that A Nanny For U really respects their employees and the value of their time. I've never worked for a company that made me feel as supported and comfortable as the team at A Nanny For U has. They work with my schedule and I feel like I have a very consistent and reliable resource to go to if I ever have questions or concerns.

    Cons

I truly have not found any cons in my time with A Nanny For U.

I have been working at A Nanny for U full-time for less than a year

      Pros

My first week did not go smoothly. One of the days, I screwed up big time and went to the wrong house, and couldn't find the client's phone number to call her and let them know I was going to be late. I was in a total panic all morning trying to find the right place and get in touch with people, terrified I was going to be fired. But when I finally found the right house and was able to talk to a manager, they were very...

I have been working at A Nanny for U part-time for less than a year

      Pros

A Nanny for U came along for me when I realized that working in childcare centers was no longer in alignment with the kind of intentional care I wanted to model and encourage. A Nanny for U has up-leveled my year! The remarkable Team met with me and most diligently placed me with an amazing family in the Bellevue area. I felt like the Team listened to my wishes for working with families and the on-boarding process...

I worked at A Nanny for U full-time for less than a year

      Pros

I gained so much useful experience at ANFU and I'm disappointed to see so many negative reviews as of late. The owner, Rebecca, is definitely someone who speaks her mind and isn't afraid to hold you to a high standard, but she also puts an incredible amount of trust in her employees and offers a ton of opportunity to gain invaluable experience. It's hard to be a female business owner, even in 2018, so I give her credit...

      Cons

Pay was not as competitive as I'd like it to be, but that may have changed in the last few years. The small team environment/open office concept makes privacy basically impossible- so if that's super important to you sometimes you have to get creative!

I have been working at A Nanny for U full-time for less than a year

        Pros

The founder and owner Rebecca is the number one reason I am working for (and so excited to be doing so!) A Nanny For U. She is honest, passionate and truly an uplifting person so be around. She has no problem saying she cannot help a family if they call in and are not the perfect fit for what we provide; because it's about a families happiness first and foremost. I admire what this company does. A families happiness...

        Cons

The only con is that the location is directly next to PCC markets at Greenlake - meaning a huge chunk of my money will go to fresh ground peanut butter and the breakfast bar. But whose really complaining about that?

I have been working at A Nanny for U part-time for more than a year

        Pros

The owner clearly communicates expectations, which ensures we are working towards mutual goals. She also respects time and shows appreciation for hard work. I have enjoyed traveling with her and being in her home environment as well.

        Cons

Any issues that I have come across have been easily resolved and maintained through communication. I respect any helpful criticism and positive reinforcement that will help the owner and I reach our goals.

I worked at A Nanny for U full-time for less than a year

        Pros

It's sad because this company *should* be awesome to work for--the service that they *could* provide (if the owner would get out of the way) is great. Working with the clients and nannies is truly rewarding, but clouded by the unethical training, unrealistic expectations, and negative company culture.

        Cons

The only real con is the owner. She is self serving, egotistical, and demeaning. The company doesn't have a mission or vision aside from making money, with no regard of the people hurt along the way. People (myself included) are lured away from stable careers to join this company with the hope of doing something good in a "fun" environment. There is no respect or acknowledgment of the leap that employees take to help...

        Advice to Management

Allow (and trust) your employees to do the job that you hired them to do and treat them with respect and dignity. It's not about you and your success or image--it's about the success of your people. Follow ethical employment practices, don't just look for loopholes or bully people into thinking that what you are doing is okay. Give people a chance to learn the job and the industry before beating them to the ground.
