    I worked at A. O. Smith full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The Floor Workers at the Mcbee Plant for the most part are good people, you will always find Moles, snoops, or whatever in such a Crowd, but I believe overall, the Blue Collar workers there are a Good Bunch

    Cons

Depends on what side you are on, I saw the priority shift as I said from Employee based to Customer based, which is good at first, but I have inside Knowledge that there is a strong environment of fear being propagated there at that plant, people are afraid to critcize for fear of reprisal, I know, cause I was reprised on

    Advice to Management

You need to start treating the people who make your products with more respect

    Pros

Welefined product lines and technology, current with the market place industry standards.

    Cons

Lab manager and technicians difficult to work with. Test are poorly run and documented, tech's could use some professional attitude instead of excuses.

I have been working at A. O. Smith full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Salary above average....not worth it, money isn't everything. I would take a cut to get out of here.

    Cons

Incoherent management...several conflicting answers to same questions..."it depends on who you ask" communication is non-existent, silo mentality. Most people treated like cattle. (except the "chosen few" Improvement suggestions/deas summarily discounted

    Advice to Management

Clean house...middle and upper mgmt needs to be fully re-tooled..complacency and apathy abound. What was good enough then is good enough now

    Pros

    Cons

Too strict of a point system,I got a point when I was pregnant (high risk) and was out for 7 months and didn't find out about it til months later. The main boss at the time was a liar and totally unfait.

    Advice to Management

    Stop playing favorites.
