    Pros

Good technology and fun group. Young team and lots of things to learn. A10 has good technology on the back end and good place to start. There is no way I could replace those fun days.

    Cons

Fire anyone that has senior director title, fire ceo and cto. Lee is not Bobby Johnson. Big failure!!! Upper management of HR are inch of idiots. They don’t know how to retain their employees.

    Advice to Management

    Lee start packing your bags!

    Pros

Great group of people on the front line making it happen.

    Cons

The Executive team are "YES" folks who do whatever the CEO wants, as is with the new promoted exec in the marketing role--what a joke and with no real marketing experience. But, he is an internal "YES" man, so why not promote him whether he knows what he is doing or not--comical. Recently, they got rid of a bunch of Sales/Marketing people who really started to move the company forward by modernizing marketing, then they all were let go for no real reason. Were they intimidated by a true "world-class" marketing team--probably. They don't know what talent is, and now they can focus on updating/posting more useless collateral to the website. If you are looking to work here, forget it, you will not be happy as management has no real direction regarding their technology. They are getting beaten at every level by the competition.

    Advice to Management

Management team (executives and CEO) need to be replaced or take a long vacation. Company is going nowhere as the technology is weak, and managed my small-minded top layer execs. If you are a "YES" person, then great place for you.

    Pros

    - Average pay for new hire
    - standard benefit

    Cons

Ratting system had big problem. HR or Upper management can hold/ignore your yearly performance for half year. They think it's not important to employee at all.

Work well and contribution are not something them appreciate, behave in an obsequious or sycophantic way will help you quickly get promo in this company.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to figure out who is hard worker and who is fancy talker. This is one way to help reduce the expense. People coming from “Big company” doesn’t mean they know how to work properly. One director I know can’t event straight channel of commend properly.

    Pros

There's very little that is positive about this company.

    Cons

HR is terrible. This is a political, bureaucratic and backstabbing department that is incompetent and not helpful. Everyone at the company has to do reviews twice a year; a complete waste of cycle and time.

HR is an organization that is supposed to help retain and recruit talents. How do you do that when your own organization has nearly 100% turnover rate? It snoops on its own employee emails and chats. One HR employee made sure everyone knows that she's leaving because the organization is incompetent and dishonest.

    Advice to Management

To the CEO, please learn to hire good leaders. You hire yes-men that lack both experience and leadership abilities.

    Pros

    - Free dinner (so you can work late).
    - Lots of new grades (so experienced guys can be promoted to management positions easier).

    Cons

    - No product roadmap, no vision. Engineering executive team has no idea how & what to invest.
    - No niche, only MeToo products.
    - Always unrealistic product development schedule. With this kind of schedule you can expect the quality.
    - Old school management + micromanagement. No trust, no respect.
    - Engineering executive team has no clue how to set priority. Get burned out easily.
    - Medium pay. Startup workload.
    - Too cheap to imagine.
    - Cannot attract talent, or even retain talent.

    Advice to Management

Hire a consultant to rebuild the company.

"The WORST Executive Team I've Ever Known!"

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at A10 Networks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A lot of good people in non-leadership positions.

    Cons

Avoid this company AT ALL COSTS!!

The CEO is an old engineer who doesn't have a clue how to run a business, and refuses to trust the experts under him to do their jobs. Instead, he hires a bunch of yes-men as his executive staff who will simply do whatever he wants. He got rid of a truly talented marketing leadership team that was modernizing marketing at A10, building a world-class brand, and really helping the company begin to grow - and replaced them with another yes-man who will simply do whatever the CEO wants, without question. They've now gone back to the "old way" of doing things, which means technical product people updating data sheets and white papers and posting them to the website - and calling that "marketing".

Engineering can't deliver a product on time - or with stable code - if their lives depended on it. You'll almost NEVER see a roadmap, and when you do it's a complete work of fiction. And you'll never see performance numbers, because engineering refuses to test the products. It's a cluster!

The CEO blames sales for the lack of results, saying that "they don't know how to sell", when in fact the vast majority of sales are lost at POC. That's not sales, it's a faulty product!

    Advice to Management

Stop kidding yourself and hire A-players who can actually lead. Then TRUST THEM to do their jobs. Your problem isn't sales or marketing, it's engineering. And the CEO and CTO are the main problems in the company - so until the board ousts you, A10 will never achieve success.

If you keep doing things the way you've always done them, you're going to continue to get the same poor results!

    Pros

There are a lot of good people here that are doing their best with a lack of leadership at the very top. It's always been that way.

    Cons

Product instability has caused a lot of misses and failed attempts to close business. I feel sorry for those that are still there with no real direction, career growth or even hopes for the future. A lot of really good people were let go in sales and marketing because of failures in non-associated departments. How does that work? Well it certainly should put everyone on notice that whether you are doing a good job or not, you are at risk of being a target because of someone else's lack of performance.

    Advice to Management

    They have never listened.
