    Pros

Great company. Headquarters location puts shoulder to shoulder with executives and higher ups allowing you to really gage opportunity for advancement within the credit union.

    Cons

No cons seen yet. I've been with the company for 2 months and everyone is very tight knit. great working environment

I have been working at AA Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You have the hope of one day transferring over to AA as an internal candidate, sponsorship from AA which includes benefits that an AA employee receives: health, 401k, flight benefits. Good stepping stone if you're wanting access to AA the airline.

    Cons

As the new AA moves forward the credit union stays behind with its rigid culture. Chances of promotions are slim since there isn't much movement in upper positions. Requires a one year commitment in any position you accept (something AA did away with). Pay is mediocre and it seems they feel they can get away with it because of the sponsored benefits received from AA. 2 week vacation, since each department goes off seniority do not expect a favorable outcome as a newbie; also because the credit union is a financial institution you have to take a mandatory week off (the week you're required to take off is used from your allotted vacation). Cannot really use flight benefits because you can end up getting stuck trying to come back home and if you don't show up to work because you got stuck there is serious consequences. Attendance policy is horrible and not flexible, if you get sick it is considered an occurrence.

    Advice to Management

Just because the credit union is blessed to have the benefits of AA does not mean it is okay to pay below market. Get rid of your silly one year commitment. Do not hinder an employee allow the employee to grow and provide him or her the tools necessary for that growth. Do not pick and choose which policies from AA the airline you will adopt and which ones you won’t.

I have been working at AA Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great flight benefits, easy going Banking Procedures, great organization, very charitable overall, fun staff, you get lots of knowledge about the airport life✈️

    Cons

The employee bus from the employee parking to the branch, sometimes too bureaucratic, takes a while for things to be changed, too many people working in this company for way too long and not get acknowledged for their services.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes the management shouldn't be so bureaucratic and have availability for all branches no matter how small the branch is. Great work life balance! Fun staff!

I have been working at AA Credit Union full-time

    Pros

Flight benefits (which are also kind of a "con" - see below), decent medical and other benefits, very close with co-workers, very steady in terms of job security. Name recognition of working for AA. Occasionally positive interactions with members. Upper management are generally active and approachable - even the CEO is very nice. The products and services we offer are legitimately good, for the most part.

    Cons

I have a degree but the pay is almost laughable, which is a broader AA problem (unless you're a tenured pilot). Flight benefits are far from a sure thing depending on when and where you want to fly. Can be very stressful dealing with members and most departments are perpetually understaffed. Lots of red tape. Very little turnover in upper management so there is limited opportunity for advancement. Two weeks vacation plus eight sick days is really not that competitive (you get more vacation after FIVE years).

    Advice to Management

Run a tighter ship. People blow off policy and/or just strive for mediocrity because they know they are extremely unlikely to face discipline. Give the high-volume departments the increased staffing they need to service more members and reduce the strain on everyone. Give younger employees a reason to stick around after the luster of "flight benefits" wears off.

    Pros

Overtime is always offered on Saturdays so if you need the extra money its there. Team award bonus, and Cost of Living bonus on top of all the other benefits; can't be beat.

    Cons

If you don't live close the DFW area traffic can be pretty terrible. Cost of living around DFW area is pretty high since its next to the airport. AA can be pretty strict on attendance. Must keep a paper trail of your own leveling up tests. I had to retake my leveling up test because my supervisor lost it.

I worked at AA Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Potential Flight Benefits if you ever get time off , friendly members & coworkers, Chance to meet top airport officials,

    Cons

The Branch Manager was bipolar! She turned on a dime. You never knew what her mood would be. Actually timed bathroom breaks!! ladies do have special needs every month...hello. Such a negative environment. Not sure about other branches but pay was lousy as well.

    Advice to Management

    Treat employees like human beings.
