I worked at AAA Colorado full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amicable co-workers, some opportunity for advancement. Unwavering dedication to serving AAA members.

    Cons

Archaic business models, a seemingly reluctant attitude towards technology and an aversion to 'stepping into the 21st century'.

    Advice to Management

    'the bell tolls for thee'

I have been working at AAA Colorado full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Can't really think of much except a good place to learn Insurance

    Cons

Plenty, Crap pay after tow years, do 75% free memberships for the Co, no pay for vacation, sick or holiday pay. Pay about $8 an hour for overtime. You take a big pay cut with their new pay plan

    Advice to Management

Pay plan is the worst in the insurance industry after two years. Great incentive pay plan, where maybe 4-5 agents go over 45 policies a month. 3 different pay plans is great for motivation, New Pay Plan causes some agents to make 50% less than other agents doing about the same work- Really-no pay for vacation or Holidays.

I have been working at AAA Colorado (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People think the name is still worth something, it looks good when you interview at other places.

    Cons

Where do I begin? Idiocy, Favoritism, Terrible Parking, Low Morale, Micromanagement, Endless time wasting paperwork, etc.

    Advice to Management

Take your heads out of your hiney to start, and maybe, just MAYBE treat your employees with respect.

I have been working at AAA Colorado full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Can't really think of any pros. They do offer benefits to full time employees although the health insurance isn't very good.

    Cons

They only care about top management. The average employee is insignificant to them and very disposable. A revolving door of terminations.

I worked at AAA Colorado full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The AAA mission to serve their Members is outstanding. The organization is really driven by what is best for the Member.

    Cons

AAA Colorado is a very conservative company, very slow to make changes and adapt to an every changing business environment. A very traditional company which has clearly defined hierarchies and is still grappling with the learning curve for communicating through new mediums. The current CEO is 69 years old and has been with AAA for 42 years! She is out of touch with the real business world. The Board of Directors is a group of old out of touch folks. Very top heavy for a company of its size. Very low paying for the scope of responsibilities. Very little room for career advancement. Many of the employees have lots of longevity which makes for a stagnate environment.

    Advice to Management

The old guard needs to retire and move on. You need to listen to your employees. Give your managers the ability to make decisions. Way too much micro-management. The turnover in VP's, Directors, Managers and Supervisors in the past five years speaks volumes on how poorly you hire!

I worked at AAA Colorado full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They will use you when and where they need you. But that's about it!

    Cons

Unless you're Caucasian or look and act Caucasian, you will not get hired on permently! They will put you through a two hour interview just to pick you apart for nothing! The MGMT is rude and so ate the employees. Hatefull gossiper's. They come to work to create drama.

    Advice to Management

Start hiering other races on permently! Stop giving all the people of color temp work! You show favortisim to the Caucasian employees and they are the ones who get the perment work, they are the ones who get to stay permently. How many colored people in the Denver office are PERMANENT employees? About 3 or so. While the rest are all temps and get turned down when they apply for perment positiins or positions other than road side. No equality whats so ever and temps are treated like they are less than human ! Discrimination at its finest!

I have been working at AAA Colorado full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benifits, vacation, company perks, etc But the wages are oh so low!

    Cons

Certin people just wont let your do your job. I have more degrees and experience than these "supervisors" combined but they imsist on treating you like your incompetent of doing your damn job. Word of advise, find a job that values the knowledge and experience you have under your belt. Work for a company who values you as an employee enough to give people a causal friday. The older (age wise) employees who've been there for a while are intimidated by the younger, more technology savvy employees in fear of loosing their jobs or being replaced because they are so behind and stuck in the past and dont inow how to operate a dam computer.

    Advice to Management

It's 2016, not 1950....with that being said, you know what needs to be done!

AAA is a well respected brand
Most employees are great to work with
    Benefits are decent
    Good opportunity for advancement

    Cons

Managers who aren't in touch with reality
Politics and bureaucracy often gets in the way of progress
Upper management is out of touch
    Lots of complacency

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees more and be fair with them. Recognize hard work and dedication and let employees know when they are doing a good job.

I worked at AAA Colorado full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    a one hour lunch break

    Cons

Every other week you work half a day on Saturdays, which brings you in the office 6 days a week.
So they don't have to pay you overtime, you work half a day during the week.
Not a good work-life balance. It was exhausting.

    Advice to Management

Always negative support, comments, feedback, etc. I felt beat down. No one can work like that. Had to run, not walk away from there.
