    Negative Outlook

I worked at AAA Ohio Auto Club full-time

    Pros

A few friendly co-workers. Water machine in the lunchroom.

    Cons

Poor management from the third floor down. HR run by incompetent people. Building is dirty, bathrooms are filthy. I worked there for years and watched so many boys club members get promoted, or get jobs created for them. This could be a good company if management was given a complete overhaul.

    Advice to Management

I wish I cared enough to offer advice. However, there isn't a single soul on the third floor who would care enough to read or to heed any advice given. They just don't care about anyone, or anything beyond the ivory tower.

    - Terrible commission & incentive plan.

    Advice to Management

Help your entry level positions grow and advance before the future of your company leaves.

I have been working at AAA Ohio Auto Club part-time

    Pros

Personable staff that is dedicated to the work of AAA. Very hand-on training and feedback that makes you feel valuable to the team.

    Cons

Not much encouragement for growth or promotion. I was under the impression that I could advance within the company but no opportunities have be presented and don't seem very likely.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your employees don't feel trapped or stuck in their jobs. Create some variation in the work environment and within the job duties.

I worked at AAA Ohio Auto Club full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This was my first position after graduation from college, and I was able to boost my sales and customer service skills through this travel sales position. There are some good travel discounts available to consultants, and eventually the opportunity to take FAM/other free trips. Hours were pretty good for a retail store front position.

    Cons

As you are getting started, it will be nearly impossible to make much additional money with the travel commission system. For the younger generation of workers/fellow travelers, this sort of travel is old fashioned as people are utilizing new technology and alternate travel means.

    Advice to Management

Raise the base salary to keep younger hires interested and engaged in the position.

    Pros

    Discounts on travel.
Other employees are friendly and often willing to help each other.
    Good 401K and health insurance.
Small enough company so that you can make an impact with your responsibilities.

    Cons

Everyone is feeling over worked which is resulting in many people leaving the company. Yet, they are not bringing on additional staff.
    Low pay.
Minimal opportunity for advancement if you don't want to switch to different ares of the business.
Takes 5 years to get to 3 weeks of vacation.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at AAA Ohio Auto Club full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I had a few decent co-workers. Free membership every year. I liked the job I was doing. Offered free battery/car checks a couple of times a year

    Cons

Direct supervisor lacked any kind of management skills. Company is top heavy & executive/director positions are "created" not earned. Company morale is very low. Long term people are leaving and no one seems to be concerned.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people actually doing the work in the company. No, really LISTEN. These stupid wellness programs, heart walk things..they may look good on the surface, but you've got a company filled with unhappy people. Fix it. AAA used to be a great place to work. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy now. Quit wasting money and start using it wisely on a way to make the company work right again.

    Pros

    Cons

Heavy workload, poor work/life balance, stress levels are high. Software technology is lacking, IT support could be better. Expect to work plenty of extra hours.
