I have been working at AAA Ohio Auto Club full-time

    Pros

    Nice benefits for entry-level position.
Most positions have M-F 8-5 type work schedules.
    Good management in certain positions/departments.
Place as a whole has very friendly staff.

    Cons

Lack of advancement opportunities unless willing to stay for 5-10 years.
Low end of the salary scale compared to other companies in area.
Communication from certain positions/departments leaves a lot to be desired.

    Advice to Management

May be easier said than done, but more than a 3% annual raise would be nice (or start positions at a higher base salary).

I have been working at AAA Ohio Auto Club full-time

    Pros

You get to study the geographic globe, you meet different people everyday. You also have free cruising and other travel discounts and opportunities. Great hours 8-5 or 9-6 with every other weekend off.

    Cons

Pay is low, Commission structure is bad.

I worked at AAA Ohio Auto Club part-time

    Pros

The clients and the other agents

    Cons

Unreasonable goals needed to be met monthly for you to receive your commission that is less than 10% of the commission that the company made from your work. Hourly pay was just above minimum wage. Corporate did not support the reason that they were first started - to help clients when their vehicles needed to be towed. Clients often waited more than two hours for a tow. AAA was more interested in selling VISA cards, merchandise, and insurance. Agents were told not to contact tour & cruise company representatives direct and had to go through the help desk. This often took days to get an answer when a tour or cruise representative could answer within an hour.

    Pros

A few friendly co-workers. Water machine in the lunchroom.

    Cons

Poor management from the third floor down. HR run by incompetent people. Building is dirty, bathrooms are filthy. I worked there for years and watched so many boys club members get promoted, or get jobs created for them. This could be a good company if management was given a complete overhaul.

    Advice to Management

I wish I cared enough to offer advice. However, there isn't a single soul on the third floor who would care enough to read or to heed any advice given. They just don't care about anyone, or anything beyond the ivory tower.

    Pros

Personable staff that is dedicated to the work of AAA. Very hand-on training and feedback that makes you feel valuable to the team.

    Cons

Not much encouragement for growth or promotion. I was under the impression that I could advance within the company but no opportunities have be presented and don't seem very likely.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your employees don't feel trapped or stuck in their jobs. Create some variation in the work environment and within the job duties.

I worked at AAA Ohio Auto Club full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This was my first position after graduation from college, and I was able to boost my sales and customer service skills through this travel sales position. There are some good travel discounts available to consultants, and eventually the opportunity to take FAM/other free trips. Hours were pretty good for a retail store front position.

    Cons

As you are getting started, it will be nearly impossible to make much additional money with the travel commission system. For the younger generation of workers/fellow travelers, this sort of travel is old fashioned as people are utilizing new technology and alternate travel means.

    Advice to Management

Raise the base salary to keep younger hires interested and engaged in the position.

    Good 401K and health insurance.

    Cons

Everyone is feeling over worked which is resulting in many people leaving the company. Yet, they are not bringing on additional staff.
    Low pay.
Minimal opportunity for advancement if you don't want to switch to different ares of the business.
Takes 5 years to get to 3 weeks of vacation.
