I have been working at AAH Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Forward thinking, genuinely investing in growth for the independent pharmacy sector. Hard working teams, with a SLT not afraid to get in front of customers and find out which way the cold wind blows. Scale and scope of Celesio and adjoining businesses (Lloyds, Sangers, Masta etc).

Great distribution centers going the extra mile for customers/patients. Praise is giving at all levels, and there is a sense of belonging culture in most departments.

    Cons

Pay is quite disappointing - far from market avg. (unlike many other aspects of AAH). Aligned communication can be tricky with so much going on, there is an expectation to be jack of all trades.

    Advice to Management

Be mindful of how far goodwill, loyalty and 'going the extra mile' should go, before you reflect on remuneration. Quick to praise (which is nice!) but slow to financially reward.

I worked at AAH Pharmaceuticals (Less than a year)

    Pros

some of the people are treated as badly as you are so you get on with them ok

    Cons

the management are total scumbags, they will cover anything up to save their own skin and treat people like utter crap, there is only 2 nationalities in the workplace as several years ago a Polish person hired loads of Polish people, now its half and half scottish and polish

    Advice to Management

try and make sure your superior never sees the review or talks to the staff

Start off small as a warehouse operative and work your way up through the company to warehouse supervisor, deputy manager or some day even manager. Its possible.

I worked at AAH Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Market leader, genuinely tries to do the best by people and says all the right things. Recently taken over by new American owners - potential for growth if managed well.

    Cons

Poor communication methods. Leadership comes across as insincere due to regular changes of direction - no clarity around business initiatives. Focus has switched from people to cost cutting. The loyal are leaving in their droves.

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach, in every colleague-facing scenario. Provide staff with a clear sense of direction. Don't try to change everything at once.
