    I worked at ABB full-time

    Pros

Extremely focused on safety, both in the office space and factory.

    Cons

Consistently get it wrong when attempting to understand why their business is performing poorly. They are hyper focused on the short term numbers, and have no long term strategy. Constantly eliminating potions to meet the numbers - damaging those that remain.

    Pros

Its ok if you just need somewhere to work.

    Cons

Hi, employee turnover rate. The people that train you may have only started a few weeks before you. They could get more production if they had a better system.

"Still an old European engineering company"

    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at ABB full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    People are fantastic. Global reputation.

    Cons

With all the acquisitions and restructuring, there is a constant state of change and turmoil, including never knowing if you're next for elimination. Lack of diversity at the top (leadership is predominantly white European male). Uber-matrix means you have at least three bosses, one of whom sits in Zurich.

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach. ABB cultivates a reputation of innovation and employee empowerment, but there is very little evidence of this at the local business level. Cost savings initiatives don't go over well when leadership is forcing last minute travel arrangements in order to save $50.
