I worked at ABB full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Annual salary increases, flexible work schedule, annual bonus.

    Cons

Constant change. Management cannot decide on direction. Moved jobs then moved them back less than a year later. No strong leadership. Under qualified leaders. Current management concerned less with what is best for the company and more about how to forward their own careers.

    Advice to Management

Hire employees who are qualified for the position. Hire managers with vision for the future, not just to clean up problems from the past mistakes.

I have been working at ABB full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

European company, so many great European benefits - almost 4 weeks paid vacation. It's cool to work for a diverse company. I am always meeting people from all over the world.

    Cons

most locations are in the middle of nowhere, so hard to get good employees to stay. It really depends on your site. I've been to three different sites and each has a completely different culture.

    Advice to Management

I am not sure what to say for this one. Keep up the good work? Management depends completley on site. Goals don't seem to be aligned from site to site.

I have been working at ABB full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company very good for moving up the ladder. They really promote everyone to build their careers and further education.

    Cons

Very corporate. This sometimes makes rules a little rigid. They don't always pay shop workers the best but it is a stable job with growth opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Let's try to be more flexible. Before we roll out high level strategies we need a plan to take it to all the BUs.

I have been working at ABB (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I like the growth opportunities and challenge. The people are great too. Global company with several divisions and many products.

The grind can be a bit tough sometimes. Intense focus on Revenue, GM%, and EBIT can be intense. Company structure can be a pain at times.

    Advice to Management

We need to find a way to reduce redundancy due to our matrix structure.
