I worked at ABBTECH Professional Resources full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked as a contractor to the State Department and was paid by ABBTECH for one year. I'm thankful that I could continue my job with State and I received a pay raise when I signed on with ABBTECH.

    + Decent benefits
+ Paid weekly through direct deposit
+ 4 weeks of PTO (2 a piece for vacation and sick, although you can use them however you wish)
+ Pretty good health insurance through Kaiser Permanente
+ The liaison to ABBTECH and State was extremely helpful in navigating the contract negotiating process

    Cons

    - Because I worked under a contract with the State Department, I was only going to work with ABBTECH for one year
    - No 401(k). Because of the high turnover of contractors, ABBTECH apparently doesn't need to offer any sort of incentive to stay with the company for longer than the contract's duration
    - ABBTECH is similar to many small companies in the DC area that charge the government as much as it can and pay its contractors as low as it can to maintain a healthy profit margin. It views its employees as costs to consider rather than resources to invest in, hence the large turnover
    - Being a contractor and an on-site employee, it's easy to feel detached from ABBTECH

    Advice to Management

Find ways to better engage and keep your on-site employees and offer a 401(k)!

    "Where is the Zero Star?"

    Star Star Star Star Star

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

None that I can think of

    Cons

Family owned business with zero accountability with the actions of upper management because they are "family". No real HR in place things get swept under the rug 100% of the time. No room to advance unless you are part of their family. They churn and burn staff believe all the negative reviews. Managers set you up for failure and start gossip and rumors for their own amusement.
