I have been working at ABCO Automation, Inc. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Committed to growth. ABCO # 1 asset is it's team of committed and competent employees capable of delivering best in class, custom automation to the who's who of manufacturers. Most folks will tell you that ABCO is a great place to work with competitive pay, profit sharing and benefits to boot.

    Cons

Grabbing at straws here but more parking would be nice. :)

I worked at ABCO Automation, Inc. full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexibility with time off policies. Ability to work from home.

    Cons

Poor communication. Lots of micro management and inability to see beyond personal preferences. White male dominated.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Good people, interesting projects, people generally work together well. Project based work can result in long weeks but there is a good balance

    Cons

Be happy with what you come in with - that will more than likely be about what you have in terms of duties and salary no matter what you contribute.

    Advice to Management

It is hard to have growth for all people at a small organization, but serious thought needs to be put into career paths, succession planning, etc.

    Pros

Communication between departments and individuals are excellent. Progressive work enviroment with wide leeway for time management by employees themselves. Excellent use of technology and tools for producing quality work with the right amount of supervision. Great people to work with and to work for, hopefully one of a few rising stars in this area.

    Cons

Sales were down during my tenure and there were too many empty cubicles. The sales department needs to work harder to attract business from new areas and seek multiple opportunities. The last statement should be tempered with the fact that this is the worst economy in over fifty years.

    Advice to Management

You have an excellent base of employees, a very large knowledge base and the best attitudes I have seen in years. Use them to their fullest potential.

The people are great to work with...everyone is friendly and intelligent. Management truly cares about the employees. The safety record is very good.

    Cons

In engineering positions you can expect to work a lot of hours and travel a good bit.

    Advice to Management

    You're doing great.
