I worked at ABM Industries full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay was good. At least for the kind of work i did. Hours were fantastic. Wasnt too long or demanding. Holidays off is always good as well.

    Cons

They could've done a better job at communicating with me. During the beggining i wasnt getting much info on my pay, and than at the end i got a last minute notice about me being let go. It wasnt on bad terms. But i dont see any reason to go into on this page. Just communicate better is all

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Maybe expand some business to my area, belfair WA, so i can get back to work for you guys

I have been working at ABM Industries part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are way too many things to list here.
    Good people.
    Family environment.
    Everyone got each other's back.
    No confusion and always compromising.

    Cons

Management and HR can be a little too harsh.
I wish they would calm down a little and enjoy life a little more.
It's a job don't make it your stress instead make it your happiness.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.
You're one of the best managers I ever had in my entire life.

    Pros

If you have never written a proposal before this job will definitely help you learn quickly on your own. Lots of Salesforce training

    Cons

No one really to get real training from, self-taught. May receive some management training but not enough. Your definitely thrown into the fire. Not a team feel environment

I have been working at ABM Industries full-time

    Pros

Current Location is the best. Our group is dedicated to the training and development of its employees. At ABM employees seem to be a number.

    Cons

Overall ABM HR Shared Services for employees is inefficient and not employee friendly.

    Advice to Management

ABM Scott Salmirs is really the best. He is a dedicated CEO who wants to change the culture of ABM to a truly employee oriented culture. He needs to put a process in place that assures his management teams are doing the same.

I worked at ABM Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This review is for Los Angeles office. Pros ? The job requirement is pretty basic. Therefore, it is pretty easy to get hired for any jobs in the office, especially if you are Chinese/Chinese American, White/Black or pretty young girls. Don't bother to apply to any jobs in the field if you are not speaking Spanish. Free Breakfast on Fri, birthday cakes, free parking, get paid in every two weeks.

    Cons

This company doesn't want to keep their talents. It is super easy to become senior because people constantly quit after couple months working there due to the workload and the management. The paid is pretty low compared to the industry standard. Managers and executive are perverts. You will be the favorite in the office if you are one of those pretty YOUNG girls. Be prepared to stay until 10PM every nights during one week of month-end closing, then come back to work at 9AM. There has been many laid-off across the division. ABM decided to move all of finance and accounting functions to south and east coast. That means there will be more laid off soon.

    Advice to Management

Stop favoring those young girls. More professional and less pervert ! Pay people more, so they can survive here instead of leaving to another place.

I worked at ABM Industries full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent salary and performance bonus. Regular and consistent change keeps it interesting. New executive leadership has a solid overall vision for the direction of the company.

    Cons

Below industry standard benefits package. Culture is a real problem right now as the company is going through a major transition... a lot of politics and the loudest voice is assumed to be the correct one.

    Advice to Management

Be mindful about your investments in technology. Current engagement with major consulting company has run it's course... cut bait and focus on finishing execution of what's on your plate before taking on more / shifting focus.

I have been working at ABM Industries full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I can't speak for all of ABM, but my managers are very understanding, in general. I've gone through a lot of changes and roadblocks throughout my years as an employee and they've been supportive.
    Flexible scheduling
Decent benefits that carry over even if you leave the company

    Cons

While their door is always open, they do not take suggestions well. They think they know best, ALWAYS, yet lack the experience that we have in our particular position.
For a while they were the Kings of micromanagement. It was insane.

    Advice to Management

    Fix the cons listed above
