    Pros

Still looking for them - none so far

    Cons

Lack of leadership, accountability and team work mentality. They let all the good employees go and keep the bad apples employed. Salaries are bellow the standard comp analysis, no training provided or support from management.

    Advice to Management

Provide training to everyone to ensure that the performance is at maximum and that everyone works as a team.

I have been working at ABM Industries full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

ABM has given me a pathway and the leadership to further my career in ways that have exceeded my professional goals and pushed me to always strive for the next level.

    Cons

Working for such a huge corporation can sometimes offer challenges in dealing with cross country relationships in an effort to maintain corporate goals and client expectations.

    Advice to Management

Promotion from within should always be the first option. Standing behind your employees and encouraging them to push the boundaries to their fullest potential will continue to lead the way for innovation.

I have been working at ABM Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company has been in business for years.

    Cons

The fraud is rampant in the company. If you are unwilling to violate your ethics this is not the company for you. There are numerous examples of reportable ethics violations by their management. Everyone is some for of VP. Controllers and mid tier management cook the books on a regular basis. A number of employees are pulling together data to report to the SEC the violations they have noted. If looking for a job here be cautious as they are a good candidate to be bought out and totally gutted...too top heavy.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with your board. Tell them you have some rogue factions in you company. Tell them that you are unable to move due to unskilled employees in key management positions. After that do something about it...until then fraud will continue to run rampant in the organization.

    Pros

Laid back and simple. Great for people who can't work as hard or have limitations. If you like to clean this is the job for you

    Cons

Management is bad and hard work goes unnoticed. Tight on hours so don't expect overtime. People call in or don't show up and you have to do their job for them

I worked at ABM Industries (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hiring process was expedited quickly.

    Cons

A Manager will only be hired and placed at a location in order to be accountable for past failures at any building site. The blame/fixing the process for any issues should always be placed on the shoulders of the entire Management Team, not just an OS Manager - "Plausible Deniability" by upper Management

    Advice to Management

When an OS Manager fails, the entire team fails, not just the OS Manager. Need more support at each OS location. Promising faults hope to customers from past failures will not gain the respect or confidence needed to secure an account. This Sacramento office went from 1 million a year to 400,000 a year. Many issues need to be fixed by changing the process. Starting from an upper level.. Experienced OS Managers need a voice, not just following protocol from failed directives
