    Pros

Pretty good pay and good benefits. Some opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

The big picture vision does not trickle down to the front lines. Corporate talks a big game and makes ABM sound like a top notch place to work. Most of what the company proposes to potential clients during a bid is BS. They talk about all the resources they have available such as back up staffing, but it's just a line. There are a lot of employees in any given area but they do not share employees.

Competitive pay, lack of corporate support.

    Pros

Employees of the EVS department are amazing individuals and working with them is amazing. Pay is competitive. Experience can be rewarding and very useful for networking and career building within ABM with the right connections and direction from senior/system directorate leadership.

    Cons

Corporate support in terms of technology and communications was/is outdated, at least it was at the time I was employed with ABM. You are responsible for the reputation of ABM and the statehood of your assigned contract/client. That weight means you have to bend at the will of the client to ensure you keep the contract in good standing lest you lose it. This can create morale issues and unnecessary pressure from multiple levels of the organization and hinder individual growth and proficiency at assigned duties. The lines between “coworkers” and “customers” is very blurred in the industry. You could not discipline an employee from another department for apprehensible behavior or actions, only report it to their chain of command. With that said, customer satisfaction is key to your contract’s survival and thus you are almost pressured to overlook things or “shrink” issues that should otherwise be resolved in a professional matter. You will be looked at as a contractor unless you build connections and rapport. Some of those connections cannot and will not be made. This is not necessarily a full con, but can be depending on the circumstances and environment of a particular contract.

    Pros

ABM is a people-centric company that is centered on our mission to make a difference. The company has made a tremendous investment in their team members in terms of learning, development, technology and overall culture. They also have a really neat ABMCares program, where they match dollar-for-dollar charitable donations and give you a day off for volunteering!

    Cons

ABM is getting better at having women in leadership roles but I would love to see expansion in this area.

    Corporate Shadiness at it's FINEST

    Pros

I had a great coworker who got me excited about ABM......he eventually asked me for help to help him look for a new job.

    Cons

A ton of corporate political scheming goes on - A TON. I saw so many great people get let go for all the wrong reasons. No communication. No trust. No teamwork. Horrible accusations thrown left and right. You see people crying in the office constantly. I have never heard so many swear words yelled at in conference rooms with supposed professional people.
