I have been working at ABNB Federal Credit Union full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The company has a lot of room for advancement. I have seen tellers become managers. The goal is to work hard and do what is best for the member and the company.

    Cons

Systems need to be updated to run smoother. At times it can be difficult to properly help members when systems fail. Excuses only go so far.

    Advice to Management

Test systems prior to releasing them. Members will appreciate it if we can work smoothly and without down time.

I have been working at ABNB Federal Credit Union full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone knows everyone, you are able to build relationships internally with even the CEO because you see him everyday and he knows you by first name.

    Cons

The organization seems to be behind in times, the processes that you'd think should be done electronically are done by hand. The turn around times for things simple as posting a payment is double the time frame that it would be if you went through a larger bank.

I have been working at ABNB Federal Credit Union full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly Co-workers and you are required to take a week of vacation every year for auditing purposes.

    Cons

While the credit Union is small and tries its best to give several options to its members, their sales goals are insane, no branch is on the same page and they have so many products with insurance, financial services, warranties, and so forth; the company seems to have a little bit of everything but not great at anything.

    Advice to Management

    Be consistant.

    Pros

Excellent credit union to work for. Takes care of their employees. Good management would recommend to anyone looking for a place where you count.

    Cons

Only issue would be the cost of health insurance is very high for family's . The other concern is limited PTO when you begin.

I have been working at ABNB Federal Credit Union full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really big on charity! Pays better than most of the large banks, and incentives for everything! Beget culture. Great potential, great to members.

    Cons

Too small, teller systems are too tedious, not maximizing potential in certain locations to get more business

    Advice to Management

Take note to the one location that had the biggest turnover

    Pros

Great company. Good benefits. Good pay for a teller

    Cons

No point in interviewing for promotions. They know who they'll hire.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees how YOU want to be treated.

I have been working at ABNB Federal Credit Union full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Coworkers are great. Get all federal holidays off. Work life balance is mostly good. Opportunity to learn about other areas if you choose.

    Cons

Systems don't talk to each other, making processes slow and inefficient. A lot of manual tracking. Communication with senior management & between departments weak.

    Advice to Management

Talk to front line staff about what they need and invest in systems that work together. Embarrassing when member says someone called them and you have no way of knowing who, what or why.

  11. "ABNB provides excellent member service, but to a disadvantage to their employees."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Chesapeake, VA

    Pros

It is a very relaxed work environment, and all individuals are treated like family?

    Cons

The advancements in technology are slower compared to other bigger companies, which make individuals work a lot harder at tasks that can be completed more efficiently, quicker, and happier with a better use of technology.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest that they take feedback and opinions from lower level employees more serious, because these are the ones that usually deal with members on a day to day basis. Also, I would suggest that the senior management look into ideas that would bring in a bigger diversity of traffic to the different locations.
