I have been working at ABRA Auto Body & Glass full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good exposure to a variety of work experiences, especially in the automotive collision repair industry. Solid training on workflow software. Some good growth opportunities, depending on market. Good structure, compared to most other auto body shops ...

    Cons

Poor quality when training new-hires, low training structure or training content, expectations inaccurate to training provisions. Poor overall leadership accountability. Low understanding of stresses and pressures at the ground level, especially for new employees; very much a 'sink or swim' after your first few weeks. Company growth not in step with advertised employee hiring practices; promises not kept on completing employee training. Common problems with asking too much of employees, mistakes when learning commonly punitive.

    Advice to Management

Provide more transparency and clear resources for employee development, improve access and structure of online resources to better clarify Standards of Procedures (SOP's) documentation. Engage General Managers and District Managers on correcting poor team cohesion, including correcting abusive behavior across all internal shop positions; workplace bullying is far too commonplace in most of these shops.
Generally seek out and correct favoritism, nepotism and tolerance of poor workplace conduct due to special circumstance or relations to upper management.

I have been working at ABRA Auto Body & Glass full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to keep your job - all you need to do is suck up

    Cons

Company can't seem to hit plan. Executive team is a bunch of cheaters (in more ways than one)

    Advice to Management

CEO earned $245,000 last year from Pinnacle Foods plus stock options. Look it up. Where is ABRA's board on this? Don't we deserve a CEO who is actually committed to Abra full time? No wonder why CEO is never in the office.

I worked at ABRA Auto Body & Glass full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Ease of access to payroll and benefits and good insurance.

    Cons

All of upper management that I came across did nothing but tell lies and give a false sense of job security. The will promise you the moon but only for the time they need you and then you are completely expendable to them. They have no commitment to their employees or their family's. When starving you of work as a commission based employee doesn't work they will just make an excuse or lie as grounds for termination

Change is good, it keeps things fresh. Don't get stuck on the "we've always done it that way".

I have been working at ABRA Auto Body & Glass full-time

    Pros

Full time work that is not physically stressful and you almost always have weekends off away from the shops except for trainings they schedule

    Cons

Company doesn't care about you as a person but only add an employee. It's a very do as I say and not as I do environment. Pay isn't great.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more and stop giving promotions to incompetent yes men. Listen when your employees give you suggestions to improve the shops.
