    Neutral Outlook

I worked at ABS Global full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Passionate employees who do whatever it takes
New COOs to focus business appropriately
Great R&D team to support future growth
    Lack of IT resources

    Cons

Employees overworked and expected to do several jobs
Employees not shown appreciation for their hard work
Even though 75 year company, very immature in processes and technology

    Advice to Management

Create and stick to a direction. Support your employees, ensure properly staffed. Stop hiring and then laying off staff, doesn't build morale or loyalty. Stick to your core values...they are more than words on paper.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at ABS Global as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

People are nice but extremely over-worked and stressed.
The only reason things get done is sheer will of dedicated employees who work too much.

    Cons

They are currently firing all the expensive existing staff that has 10+ years.
IT Staff is way under staffed and upper management is to chicken to push for more help.
Most of the IT staff is inexperienced and just cobbling things together, there is a ton of technical debt, and no company buy in to address it.

This place is a house of cards waiting to fall.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people, don't be afraid to double your IT staff and pay top dollar for people.
Don't expect two different time zones to work together efficiently.
Build a top notch development staff, your company would run much smoother and the applications would evolve to meet business need much quicker.

    Pros

    Great location with green space.

    Cons

    Hostile work environment.
    Employees are not respected.
Unfair and unequal treatment of employees.
Benefits were good at one time, but have deteriorated significantly.

    Advice to Management

Management requires restructuring from the top on down the line. Lack of culture or ethics. Too many vital decisions are based upon assumptions not the facts.

I worked at ABS Global full-time

    Pros

    The benefits are pretty good

    Cons

-Very misleading saying you need a college degree. You do the same thing every single day/ not a challenge at all.
-If it's a busy day you will put in overtime, don't expect to leave after 8 hours. If it's a slow day you will have lots of down time that you'll have to try and fill with boring prep work.
    -Unorganized management
-Work in a cold room around 40 degrees F for many hours a day

I have been working at ABS Global as a contractor (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Being able to self employed contractor and maximize your potential once established. Some of the best product and programs in the industry. Innovative and active in research. Really want to get it right not just numbers to prop up the next sales fad.

    Cons

High management turnover at highest points of leadership, reshuffle of field staff responsibilities. Often dealt with as an employee than independent contractor. Little recognition for achievements.
