I worked at ABS Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They did a good job at finding you work if you were not on a long term project.
The people that work there are very friendly.

    Cons

No middle management and you are treated as you are an expendable employee.
The pay is low for Government Contracting and it does not increase. They like to keep employees at the same level.
You will find yourself doing work that you are not interested in.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at ABS Group full-time

    Pros

I have watched the organization transform its company culture through more proactive engagement of staff. There are opportunities to enhance your career and stand out in certain areas of achievement, which is encouraging to the younger generations contributing to new changes in the organization.

    Cons

More diversity is still needed, such as women in leadership roles. There is a traditional hierarchy that favors a certain demographic, but this is changing.

    Advice to Management

Continue to promote from within to develop existing talents and offer new opportunities to expand skill sets.

I have been working at ABS Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are many talented professionals withing the respective operational units

    Cons

Senior leadership is disengaged when it comes to talent development. Current management style is focused on micro managing rather than empowering employees. High performers are considered commodities that can be easily replaced.

    Advice to Management

Old school management style of the 70's needs to be addressed. Get out of your offices and engage your staff and your top performers. Succession planning is key to future growth!

I have been working at ABS Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Ability to work on multiple projects.
-Very intelligent, diligent, and down-to-earth coworkers. They hire some good people.
-Pay and benefits are pretty good.

    Cons

    -Employee morale is pretty low
-High attrition rate in recent months
    -Office environment overall is stifling
-Push to be 98% "billable" when there is a huge lack in work to be divvied up.

    Advice to Management

Better on boarding would have been nice. It took about 4 months for anyone to really explain what was going on. Start a conversation with your employees to address the dissonance between mid-level management and your analysts.

I have been working at ABS Group full-time

    Pros

Dedicated leadership with innovative direction. Motivated and dedicated teams that work smart for their clients. Continuous learning leveraging industry best practices. Really interesting career. The strongest aspect of this organization is its close-knit feel with the amenities of a big organization.

    Cons

Challenging geographical area as standard of living is high for daycare and other living expenses. Offset by support for parking and metro expenses in many locations and annual review for competitive salaries.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to learn and improve.
