    Pros

    The insurance benefits are great

    Cons

Company routinely sends employees home without pay or lays off staff whenever business slows down. The leadership is mean, inconsistent with expectations, and not customer-focused.

    Advice to Management

    Value your employees

    Pros

Rolls out red carpet at first

    Cons

The moment they feel you're not a core employee you're gone

    Advice to Management

Take time to grow and run the business, instead moving from one new project to the next

I have been working at ABnote full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company is full of great people. Like any company, there are challenges but, you get out of the company what you put in. If you want to learn and grow with the changing market and business model at ABnote, there is certainly opportunity to do so.

    Cons

Like any company, there are challenges and resistance to change. If you can operate with an open mind and can be adaptable to the changes that occur to keep this company current and ever growing, you can have success.

    Advice to Management

Continue trying to improve morale to maintain and grow employee buy in when changes occur.

    I worked at ABnote full-time

    Pros

Nice location near a large park. Free coffee (but your first cup will most likely be your last, stuff tastes like sewage plant sludge)

    Cons

Once a major force in the plastic gift and loyalty card industry built with pride by the Blank family under the Arthur Blank and Company banner this facility is owned and operated by American Banknote Corporation, a holding company based in beautiful Fort Lee, New Jersey. Blank’s savvy and knowledgable executive and production management teams have long been dismantled and replaced with a shortsighted and detached upper management crew armed with a complete lack of vision along with an uneducated squadron of lower management hangers on that are unemployable elsewhere. My advise - STAY AWAY. There is scant respect for your talent and knowledge here and you’ll be shown the door for no good reason whatsoever. The voluntary turnover rate is incredulous as well, so don’t spend too much time befriending your colleagues because they’ll probably be gone before you even find out what their kids names are.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and smell the sludge. Learn how treat valued employees with some genuine respect. Work as a team with the people that bring real value to the organization. Stop looking down your noses at them as expendable minions.

I have been working at ABnote full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free food once a week, usually on Friday.

    Cons

During the last winter (slow season) the management laid off many people and hire them back as temps in the summer and offers no benefits.

There are people been with this company for more than 5 years and still working as temps. The management doesn't care about their employees and don't waste your time here. Also, you are working in a warehouse that is dark and has no windows except few manager offices. Not a good working environment.

Very high turnover, most of the employees are new and with the company for less than a year. Those people who been with the company for many years were from prior company Arthur Blank which was brought by ABnote.

I worked at ABnote full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some nice people who are good at what they do and they are good to work with.

    Cons

Employees are not fairly treated and are held back. Poor performing employees get to hold on to the job and are compensated better than high performers.

    Advice to Management

Need to recognize the efforts of employees. There are employees that care about the company and there are some who do not. There is a serious need to distinguish these employees and treat them fairly to make sure the employees stay happy.

    Pros

The accounting department was a pretty good environment. The manager and CFO had a relaxed attitude and were good to work with.

    Cons

The employee turnover rate was high. There also was only one female VP, and maybe one female executive. Also, the free coffee did not taste good.

I worked at ABnote full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some nice people who are good at what they do.

    Cons

Having trouble transitioning from gift card company to financial solutions. Some big challenges in production and operations. Senior management of questionable competence, but apparently some of them have left or been moved around.

    Advice to Management

Focus - and get some good execs in there!
