I worked at ACADIA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fulfilling job when you are able to perform it.

    Cons

Management changed late 2016 at Wesley Chapel facility and it has been downhill since. Discrimination against miniorties and homosexuals. CEO advancing her friends and has her clique. Forcing people to resign and intimidating people to keep silent . Has had terrible reviews on military program and have had multiple issues within the program and facility itself. Main focus of CEO is to get as many days out of insurance as possible and discharge people as soon as possible when insurance stops paying. Will discharge people to the streets/Salvation Army. Run the other way do NOT apply. Turn over is horrible!

    Advice to Management

    New CEO and management team

    Pros

There are some great people working here. Very helpful and knowledgeable about payers and trouble shooting. Learned a lot from several people.

    Cons

Absolutely everything. There are no policies or procedures to complete anything. The billing and financials are a nightmare. The CFO is in a daze of confusion and misunderstanding. No understanding that this is a publicly traded company. Change by the minute and nothing is ever finished causing drama and made up emergencies. The heat is on from corporate to correct the situation but local mismanagement keeps from moving the organization forward. This is now causing bad relationships with various insurance companies and providers. The software that is being used is 25+ years old. Stay away.

    Advice to Management

To the local CFO. Go work somewhere else.

I have been working at ACADIA part-time

    Pros

The mental health consumers we help are very nice and appreciative

    Cons

Heavy emphasis on billing, at the expense of services to clients and support for staff. Overworked staff. High turnover. Unpleasant physical environment (noisy, smells of cigarette smoke, very run down building)

    Advice to Management

High level management should visit and see the many obvious problems and how they actually limit profits because they prevent clients from being served

I have been working at ACADIA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    nice commute.
co workers that I respect greatly.
I can provide quality therapy for the moment (but I don't have hope that that will continue)

    Cons

since Acadia took over this site there is very little concern about quality of therapy. There is a lot of concern over the number of patients we see. There is also very little care for staff other then occasional free food (cheap and full of sugar and fat).
I feel like I am now treated a factory worker and my clients (complex and traumatized though they are) are now the widgets.g. I am evaluated on how fast I can work.

    Advice to Management

Provide care for staff : time for supervision, time for ongoing education, recognition that we work with traumatized clients and as a result need care ourselves or burn out will start to cause good people to leave.
Senior management brings business experience and no one in senior management brings mental health experience / knowledge.

I have been working at ACADIA part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I like the management staff at the Cross Creek hospital location in that they are friendly and supportive.

    Cons

I worry that they seem understaffed sometimes and the patient acuity doesn't really match the RN:Pt ratio. The numbers may be correct, but in terms of practice, the floor seems out of control sometimes.

    Pros

Good in the beginning. They work with you through the problems you may have for admissions and are nice/courteous for the first month.

    Cons

Once youve been there for a couple of months, the micro-managing begins. Scary how high the turnover rate is for the company. Don't even ask for a day off.
