    Pros

Flexible working hours and competitive pay / benefits. Company really attempts to engage employees on team building and moral building events.

    Cons

Lack of decision delegation from management to core team members for individual projects.

    Advice to Management

Place more trust in individual contributors to make decisions and support those decisions.

too many new hires that takes time to re-train, as most come get experience and then leave the company

    Advice to Management

look around and promote with-in.. if not you will continue to lose good employees.

    Pros

Immediate managers are great. They understand your current workload and help you work with other departments to prioritize what needs done. Benefits are great and the people you work with are top-notch.

    Cons

When someone leaves or a position is cut, everyone suffers. They are not quick to back-fill a position or help alleviate the additional responsibilities that still need to be completed. There is also little room for growth.

    Pros

They really give you relevant work to do. I feel more competent going back to school having the experience of the day to day skill level and experience I need to have to have a successful career.

    Cons

There are times it can be a little boring, but that is nothing new in the accounting field. Lake Zurich and surrounding area have a very expensive living cost attached to thm, so I would have to commute which I am not very fond of.

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow the internship program, it seems that it is getting better each summer!

I worked at ACCO Brands full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Living wage, good benefits, safe work environment. Opportunities for lateral movement. Excellent support of charitable and community causes. Good work life balance philosophy.

    Cons

Constantly reorganizing. Most competitor have a much higher pay scale. Cultural idea of open communication is to provide monthly business updates. Line managers do not encourage feedback, and if given, are not acted upon or responded to. If you are not a part of the clique culture, it will be difficult to succeed/survive.

    Advice to Management

Open up regular and sustained two-way communication at all levels of the company. Train your management team how to effectively collaborate with their direct reports and cross functional peers.
