I worked at ACCO full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They are one of the top HVAC companies in the state and are knowledgeable in the business. They have excellent benefits and care about their employees

    Cons

Working experience in the company varies by department and/or manager. It would be unfortunate if you worked under someone who did not fit a manager position. I suggest moving to another department within the company.

I worked at ACCO full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Everything about company. Acco is #1 HVAC contractor in California. It has it's hands in every branch of you can think of in HVAC/R departments. You can work in any branch of this company they are all strong excellent fields. Excellent exposure and hands on experience. Very open book honest company I enjoyed working in many departments of Acco. There is nothing this company can't do, build or fix.

    Cons

Acco is a very strong dynamic force in continuos motion. Growing pains are constant. Not recommended to anyone who doesn't love what they do. ( not for a slow pace thinking person )

    Advice to Management

Keep enforcing / rewarding hard working employee's to stay knowledgeable and on top / ahead of HVAC technology, ( As most are ) Steve Tuttle, Best Boss / CEO I ever worked for in 21 year career so far and by far. Best leader I ever had the pleasure to work for.

    I worked at ACCO full-time

    Pros

Okay benefits, have high premiums. Great holiday parties, will work with your schedule if need be.

    Cons

Under paid employees unless you are an engineer or Project Manager. While I was there I asked for more work and was told we will get you more work. Tried to get into several different departments but the head of my department wouldn't let me go. Managers will promise you the sun and moon but never deliever - will use the line "My hands are tied, or HR is holding me back". Eventually found another job and took it.

    Advice to Management

Keep to your word. You lose good employees by putting them in dead end jobs and not moving them when they ask.

    Pros

Working in the Glendale office, I've had access to endless resources. With an engineering department, systems operations department, construction group, etc. there is always someone who can either answer your questions or direct you to someone who can. The helpful employees make this the perfect learning environment.

Wages and benefits are comparable to or exceed industry averages for most position. Also, the ESOP program is a huge bonus.

There is always room for growth. I also get the sense that my management team and coworkers genuinely want me to succeed. The people really are the best part of ACCO. During my first week on the job, I said that this would be the place I'd retire... A few years later, I haven't changed my opinion.

    Cons

Some of the software systems are outdated.

    Advice to Management

    Keep helping your employees grow.
