I worked at ACI Worldwide full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a global company and there is an opportunity to exposures from different cultures and personalities

    Cons

Some people are extremely rude. Not everyone appreciates the value of kindness. I was on many calls where people were disrespectful to one another. While I understand people have passion, the need to be professional and speak as adults should still hold value

I worked at ACI Worldwide full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Immediate payments technology is promising for the future. Some sharp people work at the company. Omaha is a good family friendly location, with good office culture. Not sure if others are the same.

    Cons

Work from home being curtailed in some departments and locations. Management by edict, stifling any good ideas in favor of groupthink at the ELT and C levels to align to Phil's vision without understanding if it makes sense. Incompetent yet abusive executive management in some areas, and ill-experienced ones in others. Company loses money every other quarter these days. Morale in the toilet.

    Advice to Management

Difficult to provide advice when it's not taken. But the problem starts at the top.

I worked at ACI Worldwide full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The rank-and-file workers and the operational management are some of the best you'll ever work with. People care about building a quality product. Dress is casual, with shorts in summer. Hours are flexible and employees are free to work remotely when it fits with their duties. The work itself was always challenging and rewarding.

    Cons

In spite of casual dress, flex time and a devoted staff, ACI has not been "the show" as a workplace since the early 2000s. Every few years brings a new wave of top managers with a new set of ideas on how to do things better, some of them quite wrong and disruptive to the people who are trying to do the work. At one time there was a quite active strategy of laying off expensive senior employees in the U.S. and hiring people in cheaper markets to replace them. Even though the current management has professed a different philosophy, there has been only token hiring of developers in Omaha since the great newbee drives of the 1990s. Their sometime flagship product, BASE24-eps, has had disappointing sales, so I'm afraid the recent wave of layoffs in that area is only the beginning.

I worked at ACI Worldwide full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent salary, pto 18 day, challenging assignments. You can take as much responsibilities and prove your potential. Decent salary hikes per year based on your performance score card and team.

    Cons

Less work from home options, micromanage from most of supervisor, be prepared for layoff even if your over performer.

HR department is really slow, if you need green card, be prepared to wait for an year, then pay $6000-8000 out of your pocket for expenses during I-140

    Advice to Management

Before laying out teams or individual, realize what an employee can offer. You just make money acquiring other companies. It won't stay too long.....

I worked at ACI Worldwide (More than 3 years)

    Pros

ACI has fantastic, hardworking employees and this is what makes ACI great.

    Cons

Unfortunately a growing number of mid management and the greater amount of Senior and Executive level management are completely disconnected from their employees. They are often slow to respond, or do not respond at all. Sadly, ACI has become a 'date-driven' culture resulting in reactive versus proactive planning often with poor results.

    Advice to Management

Connect with your employees - you'll be surprised how much this will improve your decision making process.

I worked at ACI Worldwide full-time

    Pros

The staff is great to work with and is hard working. I had great relationships with my coworkers, however management was a different story.

    Cons

The leadership of this group was completely out of touch with reality, and the middle management was more interested in self-preservation and politics rather than doing what was best for the company.

    Advice to Management

I always thought of Tony as a very sharp person, but if he hasn't figured out by now that a change in top leadership of this group is needed asap, there is not much else to say.

    Pros

Pay is acceptable, benefits are okay. Occasionally you will come across a brilliant individual that is new or was acquired recently and have the opportunity to learn a lot from them.

    Cons

No culture. Terrible, uninspired, clueless leadership. Upper management doesn't like people with new ideas. No individual empowerment. Process. Process. Process.
