I have been working at ADK Electric full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I love working with the ADK Team! The Owners are very loyal; they value the office and field employees. I have worked in the corporate world for years and love the atmosphere and family feel of this Company! Long-term employment is also a plus! We are busy even through the trying times we are faced with today.

    Cons

I really don't have any. I see employees leave to follow the $$ but most return because of ADK's loyalty and long-term employment!

I worked at ADK Electric full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you are only looking for a long-term employment, then this can be good for you.

    Cons

If you are looking for more than just having a job and being employed, you might have to look elsewhere. Everything stops as soon as you start working here. Your career, your chance of getting a bigger pay, and continues learning opportunities.

I have been working at ADK Electric full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A few cool fellow employees. Paid for school up front

    Cons

Barely competitive wage scale. Notorious for shafting employees on pet diem and travel pay. It’s a running joke around the company. Person with no electrical experience running interviews. Poorly managed with jws and aws constantly switching jobs on a regular basis. Not as much work in town as promised. You will end up forced into the mountains or all along the front range. Little chance for advancement as every job has a site favorite who’s in with the foreman and pretends to be a foreman but is a first year. Poor job conditions and lack of necessary tools and materials on job sites. Doesn’t do reviews or offer raises unless badgered. Overall not a good company to work for.

I worked at ADK Electric full-time for less than a year

    Pros

A good training ground if you're just starting out

    Cons

This isn't for long-term. Working here is only good for fresh graduates who would like to have an experience. However, working here isn't for long-term because of lack of continuous growth for your career. You'll be stuck and you'll deprived your career for growth that you would hav achieved elsewhere.

Dear Former Employee, ADK Electric advertises Long-Term employment on their recruiting banner and that is the culture that we practice every day. ADK pays for 4 years of schooling at IECRM with 4 years of mentoring on the job by our long-term leaders in the field to get your Journeyman License. ADK Electric is loyal to those their employees. However, ADK only schools those employees that have a great attendance record, work ethic, and the passion to be the best! Thank you for taking the time to write your thoughts. Tina

I worked at ADK Electric full-time

    Pros

Good experience if you wanted to learn a bit of electrical terminology.

    Cons

Very tough company to work for. I felt like everyday there was so much pressure on me to produce. Some older experienced staff have been laid off and their jobs given to incompetent people as they can pay them less though they have no idea what they are doing.

I worked at ADK Electric full-time

    Pros

They hire undergrads and pay is okay. Good for a starting job to get work experience.

    Cons

Everyday's pressure at work can be daunting in the long term. There's no room for growth, so everything you endured will all be for nothing. Don't expect to get paid higher the longer you stay as there's a payment cap to each job position, but you still get a few pay raises though.

Dear Former Apprentice, Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns with the Company. With regards to growth, ADK Electric pays for Apprentice Electricians to go to school for 4 years (8 semesters). At the end of each semester, you are rewarded for your grades! Semester grades from 70-89% get a $1 raise and grades 90% and greater get a $1.50 raise. If you start employment with the Company at $16/hour you have an opportunity to receive a $2 - $3 raise per year. ADK mentors you through the process to become the best Journeyman Electrician! ADK Electric is very busy and the pressures to get the job done on time and under budget is why ADK is rated one of the best electrical contractors in the Denver Metro area. Our Electricians and Staff have been working on the ADK Team for many years and are now reaping the rewards of loyalty, growth, and pride in working for an excellent Company! I have been working at ADK Electric full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Gives a new guy to the field the knowledge and ability to grow. I started not knowing electrical and am now 3rd year. They have paid my tuition, helped me grow my tool base, and provided me a wonderful career. I have great foremen and leads above me that have taught me a lot. I hope to become a foreman myself.

    Cons

I sometimes wish I could work closer to home, but that is construction and I understand that.
