I worked at ADP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible working arrangements, strong teammates, good medical benefits.

    Cons

Huge workloads, little to no annual bonuses, way too many reports and metrics, 2 week vacation.

    Advice to Management

Let your people find a work life balance. There is a lot of talk about work life balance, but it's not present. The term "utilization" is used to describe each individual's workload. Your idea of 100% utilization is more like 150%. Stop overloading your employees with too many openings and often times, too many clients.

I have been working at ADP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    This position offers great flexibility.

    Cons

With changes in ownership, the company must follow strict pay scales and they can no longer pay you what they think you are worth, rather, follow a strict pay structure.

I have been working at ADP as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

ADP is a great company to work for, that is if you can get hired in.

    Cons

They seem to abuse there contractors who are preforming the same work for minimal pay, and lets not forget no holiday or sick time off. Beware as well that you might find someone what is hired in after you may make 3 dollars are more an hour. Also if you are a contractor if you apply for another position within the company you application will be placed on hold and other less qualified candidates will be chosen over you.

    Advice to Management

Update how you handle your contractors.

I have been working at ADP full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, work from home. Manager trusts me to get my work done and doesn't micro manage.

    Cons

As someone who worked their way up in the company I am paid 20% less than any new hire in the same role. No room to grow. Management has changed and is now solely focused on the numbers and the people do not matter.

    Advice to Management

We were great when we were a people first company. We are losing a lot of long term valuable employees at an alarming rate. Take note and remember we were the number one RPO provider when people mattered.

It is a company in transition with a lot of new leadership that is still trying to figure things out.

    Advice to Management

Fill some of the open positions in mid level management. Decide on a direction and articulate it clearly.

I have been working at ADP full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - Still in Findlay, for now. (until things move to Orlando)
    - It is a job.

    Cons

    - Management is sneaky and does things behind our backs. There is no transparency within this organization.
    - Uneasy feeling among employees and no feeling of stability about the future of the office within the Findlay, OH location.
    - Either promotes from within without a raise or will hire externally and bring in someone new to the RPO/recruiting field starting at about approx. $25,000 - $30,000/yr more than others performing the same job.
    - There are opportunities for promotion within, but the company does not pay. The company feels that the employees working here are not "good enough" at their jobs to deserve career advancements.
    - Lack of raises and a bonus structure except for those at the very top of the company scale.
    - Dealing with ungrateful clients. This is more of a glorified babysitter job than it is a consultant to the hiring managers.
    - There is a major lack of recognition within the company for the job(s) being performed, and an overall lack of guidance for its employees. It is easier to point fingers and blame than it is to help correct and solve the problems.

    Advice to Management

Your staff is very important to your overall success, and you have turned your back on all of us. You need to start implementing more plans and ideas to allow all of us to feel the contributions to your success, whether it is in the forms of raises, a bonus, something. Also, how about promotions within the company and with a raise instead of forcing employees into roles without any pay increase? Transparency is key from management, and there is a major lack of that and overall confidence from upper management in regards to its staff.

I have been working at ADP as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Only been there 2 weeks, but it seems like a great company to work for. They have good benefits for their employees, such as free pop/specialty coffee and an on-site workout facility. The people are very friendly and eager to help. It is a super clean facility and each employee has their own office cubicle. There are several job roles and client accounts to work for, but where you get placed initially is up to the company.

    Cons

Starting out as a contractor, the pay is low and there are no benefits. You are eligible for health insurance through the contract company but it is super expensive if you need coverage for more than just yourself.

    Advice to Management

Better communication about the contractor role. Let contractors know what will happen when their contract ends so they have some idea to plan for their future. It is uncomfortable being stuck in limbo.
